Chicken is foul!

i know what you are talking about, but i thought it was a hunger suppressant instead of a weight suppressant?

They've known about the hunger suppressing chemicals in cigarettes for a few years now.

The actual discovery of the chemical causing actual weight suppression is a fairly new discovery, as in the last 3-4 months. I read all about it in a medical/science magazine very recently.

I actually recently read a dental magazine. I was at the dentist. I didn't realize there was a whole "dentist world" out there.
You should see the swimsuit issue and the teeth on some of those girls.

K this is another issue, but again you kinda prove my point. I keep hearing that we are capable of compassion, so we should make the choice not to kill and eat the tiger. Are you saying that animals do not feel emotions? I strongly disagree with this, i have no doubt animals feel emotions, and there is no evidence to say there isn't, so this arguement is again flawed as the tiger has these feelings too. After all, you say animals have a right to live etc etc, but if they don't feel emotion, what is their purpose to be other than part of the food chain?

Are you putting words into my mouth ? Then answering those words ? Seriously ?

Dude, that was so far fucked up a reply, now I just think you are a moron.

Sorry, but you are guilty until you prove me wrong.

We as humans have the capacity to distinguish from emotions and instincts, if we have that capability, why would we not use it ?

Cmon, lets see how you gonna twist this one.....?

Everytime someone cuts you off, do you get out and beat them down ? Or do you use your capability, sorry, stupid question ..........for you.

Withdrawn.

Add blindness as another reason to stop eating meat:

Red Meat Linked To Blindness in Old Age

Researchers at the University of Melbourne in Australia found that people who eat read meat at least 10 times a week are 50 percent more likely to develop age-related macular degeneration, a condition that can lead to blindness.

You meat eaters are blind!... or soon to be.

what if i only ate animals that are vegetarians themselves? such as chickens eat only corn, and cows only eat grass ...

i can therefore state correctly that i am eating a 'vegetarian' meal.

AT LEAST 10 times/ week? Who the heck even eats meat 10 times/ week? So they probably don't eat much except meat and that's why.

Oh man, chickens eat worms and other insects.
Cows also eat a lot of them, accidentally or not. They also seem to enjoy heavy metals.

Me and Syn are vegetarian/semi-vegan twitter buddies :)

Stred, I started to eat more without even realising, and also, there is a chemical in cigarettes that prevents you from gaining weight. I read a really interesting article in a science magazine about it the other day, they have more or less proven the existence of this chemical.

I'm working out more and eating a lot less now though, and I'll slowly make it down to 10 stone which is where I wanna be at.

Interesting. I'm trying to gain weight so I will give up smoking for a while and see what happens

thanks

I knew someone would come in and say that. First, most of the meat eaters I know eat meat at every meal. Bacon or sausage for breakfast, ham, bologna, pizza with pepperoni, or hot dogs for lunch, and some kind of meat for dinner. 3 x 7 = 21 times a week. Even if we take meat out of one meal every day, that's 14 times a week. So 10 is really below average.

Second, the study shows a 50% increased risk with 10 meals a week. That doesn't mean no risk at 9 or 5 or 3 times a week. You got 1-49% risk still up for grabs at lower than 10 meals. Since there's no safe level of a toxin, eating any amount of meat over time increases your risk of eye degeneration, whether it leads to blindness or not. Now, of course, this study can't tell us what in meat is doing that. The added chemicals or something natural to meat. The next study would need to have one group eating orgainc meat and the other not.

And I knew that you'd reply with something like this :)
Well, I consider myself a "meat eater" and even when I used to eat it more often it was nowhere 10 times/week - more like 5-7 times/week max.

I can't picture myself eating meat for breakfast. I sometimes eat meat for dinner and that's usually when I eat fast foods. I eat 2 meals/ day, probably about 1/3 of my dinners contain meat.
I think most of my friends don't eat much more meat than I do and definately it's not 10 times/week.

I'm well aware of some studies about meat being unhealthy etc. etc. but I just wanted to point out the frequency of eating it which in my opinion is statistically way lower and I think that people who eat meat more than 10 times/week, let alone over 20 times/ week are very rare, at least those that I know.

May be cultural, but Jokerman definitely has a point. Slice of bread with salami or ham, hot dogs, pizza, salads with pieces of ham, I know for a fact that I eat meat more than 10 times a week.

MEAT WILL MAKE ME GO BLIND?!!!!

No, no, that's red meat. I hardly know anyone who eats red meat. Red meat is Pusha T ehhyuk. Chicken, my favorite meat, on the other hand...
However, they also found that people who ate chicken at least three times a week were 50 per cent less likely to develop the condition.

Wooo!

saying red meat dulls the senses, is the same as old folks sayin' that they can't see or hear properly, it's a complete farce

LMAO

I assume you are talking about the dicks you eat for breakfast ?

Welcome child, there is no turning back now *evil grin*

i don't plan to.. I skipped being a vegetarian and went straight to being vegan. There are times when its challenging, but its not the food, it's the time constraints. Some days I need fast food b/c well, its fast. LOL.. but other than that... The benefits outweigh the negatives for me.
