Check out the new site and help discver Time Travel, really

anyone remember john titor?

bigmack, time is relative to light no matter what you say. and einsteins theory plays into this.

No, time is relative to SPACE because its the forth dimension, you cant have one without the other. 3D is space and the 4thD is time. Anything that happens in the universe needs two things, space and time, thus the spacetime theory.

Light has nothing to do with it, other than a messure of speed.

You can break it down to the simplest highschool physics formula.

a = v/t

Thus t = v/a so when velocity increases it effects time.

That is a VERY basic explenation, which will still probably go over most of your heads :(

if time travel is possible, how come we have never had visitors from the future?

but anyways it's a creative idea for a site

Who says we havent already?

And who says that time travelers would even want to come back to our time, we're probably irrelevent. What do you think some kid 500 years from now really wants to come back and meet the Great President Bush? I doubt it. We need to give them a reason to come back in time or send a message back ;).

okay, but if we make this big in todays world, then what makes people think that people in the future are going to see it? its a whole other news probably a whole other internet. if we get it on the news in todays world, if time travel is possible, they will have other news stories, plus this all would of happened already if its the future.

Thats why the site needs to go down in history books, they (hopefully) wont be changed.

a=v/t has shows no hint of space (except space-time relation imo). it points everything to speed and acceleration (v of light primarily in this discussion)..light has to do w/ time travel discussions because it is the highest obtainable speed in the universe..so to travel into the future, u would need a very fast speed ..something like .75c

Light only has something to do with it as a messure of speed, but its not related to it. I mean, you can have time without light, but you cant have time without space.

And theoretically, light speed is not the highest obtainable speed.

wut i don get about time travel, is if in the future, people travel back in time, then how cum ther not here yet. And to say that ther not existent yet, wud go againts the whole theory, because to travel forward in time, ud hav to hav sumin to travel too

i no its theoretically possible, i jus don ever see it happening

i agree completely with what u just said ..but i have never seen documentation of someone obtaining a speed for something faster than light..i'd like to see that

edit: nvm, googled it

Well I dont think they have, but I think they think its possible. Ill look into it after work.

BTW, for anyone still doubting. They HAVE sent particles through time already, so its only a matter of time before they send larger objects.

Who says they're not here? The point of the site is to get them here lol.

..er actually i read the article i posted more closely...nothing physical can obtain speeds faster than light but lasers and shadows can

mass is a better word than physical, you feel me.

anything with mass cant obtain speeds faster than light according to e=mc^2

pretty interesting. i thought this thread was gonna be about the new 2pac site Rukas is making. still cool though. ill take more time to look at it lata.

pz.

If time travel were that easy we'd definitely have people coming back to the 20th/21st century. Enough happened of historical interest (AEOM Feb 96). And since the earth won't exist forever we can rule our the argument that 'there are infinite eras a person from the future can exist, what are the odds of them coming to ours?'

The earth is 4.5 Billion years old, and it could be 5 Billion or more by the time time travel is invented, and you really think someone will travel back in time to the day All Eyez On Me came out? Really?

Earth hasn't been habitable to humans for that long relative to its existence. And on top of that, who would want to visit a barren land? Pretty much only the past 250-300 million years contain anything of interest to a general population with the more recent years of higher interest.

And the All Eyez on Me comment was a joke ;) .
