Film & TV Casino Vs Goodfellas

which one do you prefer and why?

I prefer casino, i liked some of the scenes in it, and sharon stone is a hot bitch.

Goodfellas was good, but at times i lost interest in it.

please dont mention other films that you think are better i.e scar face, once upon a time in america

I would have to say Goodfellas. While they are both amazing movies, I always found Goodfellas to be a more interesting story. If you have read the book Wiseguy by Nicholas Pileggi, you'd know that Goodfellas is almost exactly ripped directly from the book with very little changes to the story. Whereas if you have read the book Casino, you'd know that they changed a lot of stuff in the movie. Also in Casino, they added a lot of stuff from the book that had nothing to do with Vegas or the timeline of the movie. For example, there's the scene where Joe Pesci's character Nicky and his boys put that guy's head in a vice and pop his eyeball out. That actually happened in real life, but it occurred way before the time it did in the movie, back when Anthony Spilotro (the guy Nicky was based on) was still a mob enforcer in Chicago. Overall I just enjoy Goodfellas more, even more now that I got the 2 disc special edition with commentary by Henry Hill. I would highly recommend to any fan of these movies that they also read the books, because there's a lot of stuff in both books that didn't make it into the movies.

I love both movies a lot, but Goodfellas is the better movie of the two and I enjoy it a little more. Casino is still great though.

Both are amazing, but Casino grabbed my attention a lot more. Goodfella's had some slow parts that brought down the overall performance of the film. Casino kept me interested much more.

Bank, i was gonna post the same thing. How can you call Goodfellas "run of the mill?" First of all it was one of the first movies to really show you the insides of life in the mob, you know, the day to day shit that goes on with the soldiers, not just bosses giving orders like in most mob movies. And secondly, the way the movie was shot and sequenced was masterful imo, and i love how they dedicate the last half hour or so of the movie to Henry's last day in the mob, he's lookin' like a coked out zombie lol, paranoid of everything. If this movie is just run of the mill, then what's a masterpiece in your mind?
