If someone could sticky this, that would be cool.

In this thread I will upload my "jam's of the day", which as anyone who knows me, knows will stretch right across the borders of music to provide a very eclectic mix. I will be doing this everyday for a week. After that I will update whenever I feel like it :D

I will provide a description of each track, so you can download the ones you think you might enjoy - that is if you dont want to download them all! :D

------------------------------

THURSDAY FEBRUARY 2ND - Militants jams of today are:

Alexander O' Neal - (What Can I Say) To Make You Love Me
a classic slice of 80's electro funk, by the legendary Alexander O' Neal, and produced by 2 of the true masters of funk, Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis.

Capleton - Who Dem
hard-hitting ragga dancehall from the Prophet, Capleton! Sleeew dem!

Disturbed - Ten Thousand Fists
title track from the nu-metal band's most recent album. a call to arms for rap-metallers worldwide!

Will be checking in again tomorrow, music fans, for your next update.

Peace out,
Militant

Militants Jams Of The Day (will be updated every day)

FRIDAY FEBRUARY 3rd - Militants Jams Of The Day are:

Sly & The Family Stone - Thank You (Falletin Me Be Mice Elf Again)
legendary funk tune, The Family Stone bass player Larry Graham invented "slap bass" with this song. Considered to be one of the most influential funk songs of all time.

YES - Owner Of A Lonely Heart
My favorite song from the reknowned 70's/80's prog-rockers. The Fairlight synth sounds on this are incredible, this song helped popularized the use of that particular. I believe a dance remix of this song hit the charts in the UK recently.

Probot ft. Max Cavalera - Red War
Only for those who like their metal loud, fast and heavy! From the PROBOT album, a conceptual metal album entirely produced by Dave Grohl (Nirvana/Foo Fighters), where each track featured a different, legendary metal vocalist. 'Red War' features my favorite metal singer of all time, Max Cavalera of Soulfly and formerly of Sepultura.

Tune back in tomorrow for more of Militant's jams!

SATURDAY FEBRUARY 4TH - Militant's Jams Of The Day are:

Asian Dub Foundation - Warring Dhol
bad ass track that was mostly written by Baba Stormz, the bass player in my band. (his brother is the guitarist/songwriter in ADF). Hot desi breakbeat ragga

Andre Cymone - The Dance Electric
absolute fucking KILLER funk groove. Since we're on the subject of bass players, Andre Cymone was the bass player in Prince's band from 1979-1981. After that he went solo, but this tune was written and produced by Prince. I have an original 11 minute version with Prince's vocals, lol. But this is the released 5:39 version with Andre's vocal. From Andre's album A.C, which I believe was released in 1984.

Bob James & Earl Klugh - Love Lips
smooth jazz from one of my favorite composers, Bob James, and Earl Klugh is featured on this as well playing acoustic guitar. The intro for this was sampled for "Last Days" by Onyx.

SUNDAY FEBRUARY 5TH - Militant's Jams Of The Day are:

Prince - Black Sweat
Don't think I need to say much about this other than...it fuckin rules! this is the new single from the forthcoming album 3121...and its gonna be all over MTV and the radio in a matter of days... pure slick funk from His Royal Badness....

Skindred - Pressure
This band have created an original blend of reggae, punk and metal - and it rocks. Gonna be big.

Tori Amos - Professional Widow (Armand Van Helden Remix)
Anyone who remembers 1998 should remember this...this track was massive... allegedly written about Courtney Love, it was a soft slow tempo song...until Armand Van Helden got hold of it and turned it into a dance anthem!

C u all 2moro with another update (and make sure you watch the Prince performance on SNL - I uploaded it in another thread)

MONDAY FEBRUARY 6TH - Militants Jams Of The Day are:

Courtney Love - Sunset Strip
Courtney is very under-rated, and there's some very catchy melodies on this mid-tempo track.

Kate Bush - King Of The Mountain
Kate has such an awesome voice and style. This track was the lead single of "Aerial", her latest return-to-form. "Aerial" was her first album in 13 years.

Sheila E - The Glamorous Life
Sheila E, possibly the world's greatest female drummer, biological aunt to Nicole Richie, and 80's pop singer extroadinaire. Prince persuaded her to become a singer and produced and wrote many songs for her, including this big hit, "The Glamorous Life". The combination of a programmed LinnDrum beat by Prince and Sheila's awesome percussion is guaranteed to make you wanna dance.

Note - todays links are yousendit ones, as Rapidshare doesnt seem to be working for me today.

Hittin you with some classic MJ. This just makes me wanna dance.

Chaka Khan & Rufus - Sweet Thing
One of the most beautiful melodies ever written. If you've never heard this, you're seriously missing out.

Killswitch Engage - The End Of Heartache
Awesome metal track that was the theme to the Resident Evil movie recently. Also the title track of their third album, and their first with new singer Howard Jones. Vocals on this are killer!

FRIDAY FEBRUARY 10TH - Militant's Jams Of The Day

been away in the studio for the past few days - will update more over the next few days.

Curtis Mayfield - Move On Up
If you've never heard this before, then you've been probably been hiding under a rock. Famous famous soul tune, recently sampled by Kanye West on "Touch The Sky".

Alanis Morissette - Hand In My Pocket (acoustic)
I love Alanis, I think she's awesome. An entirely acoustic version of her classic album "Jagged Little Pill" was recently released to mark the 10th anniversary of the album's release. Here is the acoustic version of her hit "Hand In My Pocket" off the new CD.

Alexander O' Neal - Sunshine
A great ballad....emotional stuff. I believe Jay-Z had a song that robbed the hook from this track...I can't remember whether the Jay-Z track was called "Sunshine" as well, it might have been.

Militant's VALENTINES DAY jams:

some tunes perfect for getting your freak on....

Vanity - Undress
Trying to get her clothes off quickly? This will do the trick.

Prince - Do Me, Baby
Possibly my favorite ballad of all time. If your girl doesn't give it ALL up to this one, she's probably a lesbian. Guaranteed to get you some action.

Zapp & Roger - Slow & Easy
You'd be hard pressed to find a better song to get freaky to than this one. You'll be making love for hours after hearing this.

Usher - Nice & Slow
I can give this one my personal seal of approval. I lost my virginity to a 24 year old when I was 16 after playing this track.

Michael Jackson - Heaven Can Wait
Another perfect lovers tune...."tell the angels no...i dont wanna leave my baby alone...i dont want nobody else to hold you..its a chance i'll take...baby i'll stay...heaven can wait"
