Film & TV Canadians: Corner Gas - Do you watch it?

I'm just wondering, am i the only person who likes this show? I think it's really funny, but not in a slapstick ridiculous kind of way. Its smart humor. But i'm hard pressed to find anyone who appreciates this show as much as i do. Anyone here watch it? what do you think?

Judging by that opinion i'm gonna guess you've never watched it before, seeing as it's "a gay show" and i assume you wouldn't watch anything gay. To be honest i didn't like the show at first, but it kinda grew on me lol

I have the first season on DVD. I find it pretty funny, its like a canadian version of Seinfeld mixed with Family Guy (cutting to different scenes to explain some jokes). I also find Lacey to be hot in a weird way, i don't know why

lol, maybe its cuz she seems so naive and innocent. Like i said, it's not ridiculous, obvious comedy like most shows are, which is why a lot of people don't like it. i guess it's what you would call a thinking man's comedy lol

I don't go out of my way to watch it, but I have seen it a few times,and I've enjoyed it the few times I did tune in. It's nothing special, with it being Canadian television of course, but it's done well.

all the CSI shows are owned, produced and distributed by a Canadian company (Alliance Atlantis). You can't say Trailer Park Boys is lame

CSI is still an american show. And I never said all canadian shows are lame, but you have to admit we don't have the best track record with great tv shows. And this is kinda what i meant. Trailer Park Boys requires absolutely no thought whatsover to watch, its a bunch of idiots doing stupid things, obvious comedy. Whereas Corner Gas requires more thought and a different sense of humor to enjoy it. Simply put, the type of people who enjoy shows like trailer park boys probably wont like Corner Gas. Personally i do think trailer park boys is a stupid show, which can be amusing at times, but mostly not imo

I find it hard to give it a chance, i wouldnt say its necessary "smart" humor, maybe wholesome. I dont feel it was meant for young audiences, by young i mean 18-25 range. thats just my opinion, because somehow i think a show like this is what my highschool teachers watch or something.

But then its also competition, only thing i watch on 57 is colbert report and old school simpsons (back when it was good)

well when i say smart i mean smarter than the comedy of something like Trailer Park Boys. It's not a laugh out loud, absolutely hilarious show, but i find it amusing a lot of the time. I think you're right about the age group thing tho, cuz when i was 20 i probably would have never given the show a chance. However i'm 26 and out of the ever coveted 18-24 demographic that shows like TPB attract. I kinda like a more mature humor now, not something that is funny because its so stupid, which is what TPB is all about
