there is a fairly long bridge, the bridge can only withstand a maximum of 3,000 pounds, absolutely no more. now there is a truck about to drive across this bridge, the truck weighs exactly 3,000 pounds. about 3/4 of the way across the bridge a bird lands on top of the truck, and the bridge does not collapse.

how is this possible?

the 3000 pound limit only refers to the center of the bridge.Once you pass the center the weight limit increases.Since the truck is 3/4 across,it can withstand more than 3000 pounds
