Bleach Blonde Hair?

I'm getting my hair done tomorrow, my first full head of bleach blonde. However I have never had my hair coloured before so I am worried it is gonna turn out wrong; especially after Toni & Guy refused to carry out the procedure saying it turns out 'blotchy' Im getting it done at a professional salon, and they finna charge me about £35-40 (this is not because I want to look like Brad Pitt, btw). Anyone been through this thing before/ have any advice? I have short(ish) dark hair and that's what I'm worried about, if I had light brown hair I would be less apprehensive; it's just a stark contrast in what I have now and what I want it to be.

i bleached my hair a couple of times before eminem came out and made it the thing to do.

i have really dark brown hair, so when the guy bleached it my hair was left looking really odd, not blonde, more like piss orange, so we had to cover my head with bleach a 2nd time around, all with in a few hours. the 2nd time we bleached my hair it was so blonde it almost looked white. it was bright as hell. the bleach burns!!!!! i hope you can with stand pain, it itches really bad too till you rinse it out.
