I have love 4 those migrants that work...alot of peeps with Indian backgrounds are usually hard working and put in more good into society than bad but as we kno one bad apple is more noticable than ten times the amount of good apples...Nice post

thanks. I made it because I am Indian. Born here but obviously my parents weren't. What I described above explains why alot of indian families emigrate. You'll find very few on benefits or cheating the system.

And the majority of Asylum Seekers are 14-28 year old males.
How does that work out? Surely the women have the same problems in the war torn countries.

Cant speak for all cultures especially not asylum seekers. But about the majority of immigrants being males, it's because of culture. In poorer countries it's obvious that women are perceived as being inferior in the sense of earning and being the provider of the family. The males are expected to work, bring home the bread, the women to stay at home. That's why its likely that the male will emigrate alone. When they have a steady flow of income, they can apply to bring their family along. I'm talking about families from ledc's living poor and coming here simply to earn some dough and live a little better. This was very common in the 70s-90s when visa's and citizenships were handed on plates
But asylum seekers being mainly male? Very odd, would anyone care to explain?

You ask for respect, you and your religion should be respected.....but then you'll have to respect the culture over here as well...... but many muslims don't do that these days. Whats so 'western culture' about half-dressed women on billboards. Do you see people burning down pubs? do you see pillaging of clubs and bars? Do you see promiscuous clothes being stolen and burned in the streets?
Many of the advertising that was vandalised was removed after being deemed to have sexual overtones of a distasteful manner. It never was about culture mate, it was about decency of the advertising material. Do you see anyone vandalising any T.V stations?

How will you judge which are offensive and which are not?

this are all britsh laws. and having indecent billboards follow the same logic as the laws stated before. The issue was a simple one of lewd lustfull advertising, thats without even considering the implications of the objectification of women in all advertising that we get today. Not churches and mexicans and g.w.bush and immigrants and black people and white people and cats and dogs and not forgetting mice, that no one like and would like freedom from.

most material of this nature has rules rules governing that material, as in this case there is a regulator (ASA). Or there may be a council, or some other authority. In shortm, the material should not be torn down but the authorities contacted and notified of offence because of some VALID reason.
When I prtially defended the vandalism of the billboard, it wasn't in the context of complete anarchy. I simply approached it from a angle similar to the civil unrest caused by the miners in the 80's, or the recent blockades at petrol refineries by truckers and taxi drivers. I think that both the miners and truckers caused a healthy level of civil disobedience.
the YSL billboard that I have posted. I myself complained against that and people in my area defaced the image, it was taken down. Should they have vandalised it? Well this kind of vandalism I was looking at from a similar perspective of the truckers who blockaded the refineries.

Should research be done, regarding billboards? well, if the billboards are indecent then they shouldn't be allowed in the first place. What is being advertised has never been a problem, you dont see people tearing down adverts advertising pork chops. Television has strict laws before the watershed, so to ask for indecent advertising to be removed from billboards is nothing new in british culture. They already have laws concerning decency in public and public broadcasting.
