“The allegation as I understand it, is utterly preposterous and bizarre, coming one year after it was supposed to take place,” Cosby’s attorney Walter Phillips Jr. told the Philly.com.
The woman reported the incident to authorities in Canada, where she now lives, according to Philly.com. The woman, who told police her memories of that night were not too clear, said that she and Cosby went to dinner in Philadelphia in January 2004. She then alleges that Cosby returned with her to her room where she complained of stress, and he gave her pills. The woman said she remembers being touched on her breast and genitals and woke up at 4 a.m. to find her clothes unkempt and Cosby gone.
In 1997, 22-year-old Autumn Jackson was found guilty of extorting money from Cosby, whom she claimed was her father. For years, Cosby had paid Jackson's mother to keep quiet about the affair, even though Jackson's paternity was not certain. According to published reports, Jackson had vowed to take the story to the tabloids if the entertainer failed to pay up. Jackson's paternity was never determined, according to Philly.com.
