Film & TV Big Changes For The WWE On The Way

A little variety can do wonders

WrestleMania is just two weeks away -- and that means that some big changes in the WWE are now just two weeks and one day away as the company never takes too much time following Mania to set the tone for the following year.

The change planned that will have the most immediate impact will be Randy Orton moving full time from "Raw'' to "SmackDown.'' As talented as he is, Orton has been the subject of some backstage controversy lately, and management thinks the change of scenery could be beneficial to both brands.

Just have to wonder why it took the WWE so long to realize that changing one star every few months would give a huge boost in fan interest. Now Orton can have feuds/matches with Angle, Guerrero, JBL, Cena and so on and will create fresh story lines for Thursday nights. That's all you need -- something a little different than the week before.

AROUND THE RING: It would take a real long time before I got sick of seeing guys like Jake Roberts and Marty Jannetty making returns to WWE TV -- even if it is for just a week or two. ... Names so far confirmed for the Shane Douglas ECW reunion show include Axl Rotten, Bill Alfonso, Don Callis, Francine, Jason, Joey Styles, Johnny Grunge, JT Smith, Justin Credible, Pitbull Gary Wolfe, Raven, Sabu, The Sandman, Shane Douglas, Terry Funk, Tod Gordon and Tracy Smothers.

I hate having the smackdown and raw brands. 1 brand
Without the brand extension, the likes of John Cena, Eddie Guerrero and Christian would likely never have been given an opportunity to excel. The brand extension is a good thing, the balance of talent needs to be redressed.
