Banning

This is to Supermods and Admins. Is anyone else having a problem with banning. It says someone will be banned in the Mod CP (in this case a spammer, but there are others), but they're eventually not banned. Am I the only one having this issue?

FlipMo, how are you banning them? Are you going through the drop down and going to Ban User and filling out a reason and time limit? It should work.

you need to select the permanent option. i just banned sirius for 1 month. let's test the theory and see if he comes back tomorrow.

i think the default option is 7 days. or something like that.

I tried those ways, it didn't work. Been trying to rid of Sirus for days now lol .. hasn't helped that I've been getting that Database error - not getting it now though. Carmi seemed to have finished him off anyways. We'll see if it works, cause I don't seem him in the temp banned list...

Banning should be done by democratic process. One person should not be able to ban anyone. It is complete bullshit if one person does. That is all I have to say. Yes. Be careful who you ban, please. This board an actual source of boredom solving for a lot of people, regardless of how sad that is.

i don't think banning should be a democratic process, but it should be something where several warnings should be issued before being banned, pretty much the same process corporations use to fire people. hence why members can report posts and all.

People would have to logon to get a PM. If they don't logon they don't get it. Do you see the irony?


If you mean emails. They get done fairly often. Either from here or by DJ Tek.... And if it was going to work, they'd be back by now. Although I saw one and thought I'd check in. So you may get 1... or 2.
