Ban against Pit Bulls?! WTF!

alrite. ive seen this arguement 1000 times between pitbulls vs. doberman.
lets leave it at this:
some dobermans may beat some pitbulls
and some pitbulls may beat other dobermans

but ppl's first reaction is going to be that a pit would win because it is fucking huge

Since i'm from Denver let me shed some light. Cops aren't going around like the town of Springfiled on the snake bashing day. Usually it's just some neighborhood snitch reporting one, and then you see the animal control car parked out all day just waiting to see it. Pits have been banned in Denver since i can remember. The big story out here now is the city of Aurora is about to do the same thing. But this time over half the dogs owned in the city are pits. There are huge protests, picketing, all kinds of shit to stop this ban, but people are hard headed. All them hippie people dont like em cus of the stereotype but pits are nice unless shit happens. Training, personality, even the breed plays a lot on how the dog reacts but people dont understand that. Instead of trying to fix the problem they just get rid of the dog, some bullshit but what can you do. Mad people are moving to cities outside of Denver and around the metro area so im thinking it might become a statewide ban.
Some girl got killed by a pit about 4 years back, and attacks happen so that is why people are outraged with the dog but its sad.

thats cool to get a view of someone who lives there. it is sad. but i dont think all the blame should be placed on the dog. i wish the news reports would say how the dogs that attacked children, were raised, and how their owners treated the animal.

A doberman is much taller than a pitbull and usually more heavier, so pitbull's compare to dobermans are not huge at all. And like Pittsey said , the pitbull is bred for fighting so WAY more than often it'll easily take out any other dog in a pit-fight. Dog fights matter about the mentality alot, so if it is truley a pitbull, there is no question about who would win.
And about the question who would you rather have chase you, a pitbull or a doberman, the doberman any day.

lol bad init lol like this bloke said"There is something to be said about a Pits' tenacity! If they go after something they do not quit. I bet the porcupine is dead!"so true lol

Yeah it ain't a thing, and that is true, if the news would do some background on the dog im sure people would see it is much different. They do have sotries about owners and what they are going to do once the new law passes, and the dog is always so calm licking the reporter and stuff, i'm really convinced that the dogs, like gay people arent born gay, arent born violent. Haha some reason readin that makes me laugh but whatever. I'll try and find some articles or something i'll put up.

thats not right. all the pits that were mean that ive seen were because they were trained to fight. i had a baby pit once and i raised it for like 2 months for someone. i never treated him bad. and guess what? he was just as friendly as any other dog ive seen. why?? because i raised him that way. sure he mightve pissed on me before or humped my leg, but what dog hasnt? those dogs only become mean because people throw rags in their mouths and pull them around. not because you petted them and cared for them like a baby

I hate to break it to all you people but all dogs have a tendency to turn. They are after all animals.

However a Dog that has an inbred aggression and fighting instinct is gonna pop off a lot more dangerously and easily than say a Labrador or Goldon Retriever.

And just because a dog has been brought up well won't stop him from being aggressive. It takes generations of selective breeding to stop it. Your dog may be the friendliest dog ever but that doesn't mean he won't go mad at some point and rip the face of a little kid. We all lose our tempers over things at some points and that is there inbred way of dealing with it. Dogs are after all pack animals and if they aren't kept under control they will take over.

I for one have nothing against Pit Bulls and if they weren't banned in this Country I'd have an American Pit Bull, I think they're beautiful, especially the "blue" ones. But I would never leave it alone with a kid or an inexperienced person, because they don't know how to handle them if they get aggressive. And I won't trust any dog with kids. Be it good natured or not.

There's many ways to reduce the risk. Socialise them with other animals at a young age and raise them around kids. But at the end of the day although it has been domesticated it is still an Animal and the instincts of an animal are still there. And if the reason it was bred was to fight and kill then it is going to want to do that. Even if they are loyal to their owner (leader of the pack).
