what is there left to "do" with the track? they released it and like 3 remixes of it. seems the track has been "done" to me.

Well, when you put it like that, that is true. I guess they got what they needed from it. Were they not served with a cease and desist order to pull the track from the album?
 
I came across the track a few years back wondering if it was official, but never really took the time to hear it after that.
