Auto v. Manual

auto cuz its easier and i got better shit to do with my other hand (thats right). whoever says you're not a man if you dont drive manual is a bitch in the first place.
but, auto is boring and i imagine that manual is more fun. in an auto, i find myself to drift off then i start runnin stop signs and not breaking on time :thumb:

Manuals suck when your stuck in traffic. Manual cars give u control over your car. And obviously all fast cars are manual. But u can have more problems with an manual transmission. From the clutch, to shifting gears. I think they jus made automatics for the women, lol. some automatics come wit tiptronic.

Off-topic: I recently saw a video of a race with like 20 cars lined up on a nascare lookn track. They had every car there. From the japanese acura rsx Type-R's, STI's, Evo's, Lotus, Porsche Type S, Skyline, porsche turbo, rsx type-s.. im talkn alot. it was the craziest race i ever seen. the skyline smoked every car with the porsche on its tail.

Yeah. Its been good. Had to change a cam cover and brakes recently.

What kind of engine it's sporting btw?

lol @ prophet. auto's for women. tiptronic systems are sometimes based on manual boxes, sometimes on auto's. depends on the manufacturer. Most fast cars are indeed manual, though AMG only makes auto boxes. Manual feels more genuine. \

off topic: must be cool to see how all the cars perform against each other. you saw this on video, computer, tv, in reality or what?

If you live in an area with some seriously steep areas (like San Francisco) or you are in bumper-to-bumper traffic regularly for lengthy trips (like really long commutes to work), an automatic may be the easier choice, otherwise your left and right legs will get tired.

If you care about your car and want to get the most out of it, get a manual transmission. In cars where both a manual and automatic transmission are available, the manual versions tend to accelerate more quickly (probably due to better launch control and gearing) and get better gas mileage (also due to gearing, since they tend to have another gear over the automatic, except in a few new cars). In addition, you just have more control over the car, as opposed to having an automatic where even when you have some sort of "manual"-like control, it still isn't the same. For example, even if you press the button to make an automatic downshift, it has to go through the car's computers to make sure that it is safe, and if it is safe it will then downshift, whereas with a manual, it just shifts since you're in total control. Manual will only mess up if you don't know what you're doing (i.e., shifting into too low of a gear, grinding your clutch, etc.). Manual rocks.
