I'm 19 so there's a limit to what I've experienced but with what you've seen what do you think the greatest love stories in books, movies, tv, or any other art-form are?
This is from an American but I think Hollywood is pretty influential around the world. Anyway, mine are:
Film - Jack & Rose in Titanic
-Everyone knows this one. The thing about this is the way that it happens so quickly but their love is so intense and real that it lasts all those years. The context makes it much more interesting.
TV - Ross and Rachel in Friends
-This is probably my favorite ever. Ross is the guy who wants the girl who he could never get before, and then she wants him. They finally get together and fall into this incredibly deep and honest love, but it falls apart when the relationship hits conflicts. Following that are years and years of them knowing that they love each other but not in the position of getting back to where they were before, until the very end. It's a very surreal story about how dangerous it is to put love on a pedestal and jumping ship when you realize it's not perfect, and also about how in true love, hope lasts forever.
Literature - Gatsby and Daisy in The Great Gatsby
-This is the classic book about how people want a piece of their past back, but sometimes it just can't be. Gatsby's desire and the way that he can't have it is heartfelt to say the least.
