i never really played online before either, do i have to buy allied assault on pc or is there a demo level u can play online or sommething...?

to download the demo,i think you either have to subscribe to fileplanet, or you can just register for free with gamespy arcade.if you haven't already used it, gamespy is a handy program for managing you games that have online play.lets you access servers for your games all in one simple list, and it notifies you when there is a new patch released for your games.

umm, if you mean playing online w/ a pc then getting a controller is optional.....using a keyboard and mouse has greater advantages like being able to customize what function a key has as opposed to pushing tons of button combinations on a controller. and obviously, using a mouse is much faster and accurate that trying to aim with a joystick or direction pad on a controller.....so using a keyboard+mouse is pretty mutch mandatory, unless you wanna get shot up right away. oh and playing online games pretty mutch requires you to have a broadband internet connection
