sorry but good riddense! all the horrible shit that man did in his lifetime i feel no sorrow for him, no one felt bad for Arafat, not saying he was a saint, Palestine is better off without Arafat an Israel will be better off without Sharon.
Well he was on the road to peace, we don't know what will happen if another leader is elected, will peace talks halt or not?

Sharon is obviously finished politically if he even lives. Sounds like his centrist party can still win the elections in March though, but who knows how someone like Olmert can hold together a government coalition, respond to the Palestinians and balance public approval.

As for Sharon i think thats the end of his political career, about time if u ask however of late i did think that the idea of a Palestinian state was becoming more realistic. (Even if it was being forced on both sides) Once again thats all a lifetime away as there are many hardliners (suxh as Netanyahu) who are gaining support because of the pullout of Gaza.

I used to be just like you, but I learned better.I'm against peace talks if we had to give up anything more than temporary peace for the Israelis.I'm all for an independant Palestinian state.As sad as it may seem, the Arab countries' chances of winning a war against Israel are slim to none, let alone the Palestinians.The jews wont give up the land just cause you and I or other Arabs say they should.It's time we built our country and made something out of it, have all our people unite seeing it's a mess now anyways with the two major resistance groups each fighting for a different purpose.If you were to think of it, the Palestinians give up thousands of their people to kill a few hundred Jews.No matter how Hamas and Fatah make it sound, we're losing, and they're growing stronger.They stand no chance against the Israeli army, and they seem to have little or no support from other Arab/Muslim countries.So I say, build the country and the economy, strengthen your ties with the rest of the Arab world, then in the coming years or decades you just might be ready to strike again, this time more organized and powerful than before.

Pulling the 9,000 legal settlers out of the Gaza was an attempt to make self defense easier, in addition to securing the final border of that portion of a Palestinian state. It was also an attempt to strengthen the Palestinian Authority's sovereignty, particularly Abbas's political power.
As Abbas had made clear since 2003, he isn't going to do much of anything to stem the violence. Obviously the Israelis anticipated this, thus the reason they're acting unilaterally.
There is simply no existing law or principle by which you can call Israeli settlers illegal. Especially in lands where the final status has never been determined. Everyone conveniently forgets that the Palestinians never agreed to a Palestinian state consisting of the West Bank and Gaza Strip.
