It's a good idea but shit, to be honest, most of you dont really know the extent of modding anyway, let alone administration, unless you see someone say, I'm closing this, or post deleted by "Mod" ... people move threads, they move download links, respond to queries, brainstorm the improvement of the forum, discuss bans/probation, perform those bans and probation, moderate new users and threads everyday (the last ones being responsibility of admins) ... but "true essence" (lmao) of being a mod is to keep the board functioning smoothly and the best way to successfully do that is to do so in virtual invisibility, without causing a stir. In fact the main responsibility of a mod is just to read, not even to act. If you want a pat on the back for everything you like a dog getting a treat, StreetHop has never been the place, lol.

Nevertheless, I have repped mods making good decisions. Yet I do that coz I want to not because I feel they ought to be congratulated somehow or that they are owed it. Fuck what a ramble.

Most of us understand that. However, 90% of modding is done behind the scenes, in your little hidden commission forum and such, so it's not that we don't know the extent of administration, it's just that we aren't allowed in on it.

That is my point so would it not be somewhat fruitless to call for a system of applause for the couple small things that you might visibly see when for the most part what really constitutes modding you dont nor cannot see. You cant adequately measure who does what, why, how. Only Pittsey and I have access to the logs...

I believe that any recognition and appreciation is good. As for you calling it fruitless, it's not as if it's taking money out of the streethop budget. In other words, I cannot find a downside to it.

The downside is that there is no way to trully recognise and appreciate what people do and add to this forum whether, mod, member, guest or otherwise. Our lil rep system doesnt really do it justice. By all means we should try and of course any recognition is good recognition but we do what we do on here is done for the satisfaction in itself, lord knows most of us wouldnt have stayed if we really desired anything more, haha.
