Anyone else frustrated with XXL?

Apart from all the Interscope dick ryding bullshit, (Yayo getting an XL), and out of the last 24 covers something like 12 have been interscope artists of something like that, but their website

www.xxlmag.com

has been stuck on the G-Unit cover since it came out, in what? december? its almost fucking March...

i think they are seriously getting sloppy about which artists they choose to promote. i read the the Cam'ron cover that their updating their website, but seriously, you would think they would at least make it a neutral page, im sick of going there and seeing the g-unit cover.

just venting.

G-Unit brings in a lot of money. I'm sure XXL is more interested in selling their magazine rather than promoting worthy artists. It's just like radio.

I didn't renew my subsription because those magazines are bullshit in general. So-so interviews, lame articles and bullshit reviews.

^^^ this is the truth. but i really cant go a month without a hip-hop magazine, so its either XXL or the Source, and i really cant stand the Source anymore.

question- is Eye Candy supposed to be a new magazine to replace King? that would explain why i havent had an edition King sent to my house in three months

Scratch is owned by XXL.

It was an amazing mag, and is still very good, but is becoming more of a general hip-hop mag than a specialist mag now.

XXL is still a good read. It does have other artists, but has quite a bit of a Interscope Bias.

At the end of the day though, is there a better alternative?

Yeah not only does G-Unit issues sell a lot, but Interscope pays them for the exclusiveness and all that. Like that "Shade 45" special issue probably made a lot of people to buy Sattellite Radio, and so XXL got money from them and Interscope for putting it out, and I'm sure it sold a lot.

But if you remember XXL orginally called Em a "culture stealer" and The Source were the ones who embraced him. After the beef started, Interscope pulled all ads from The Source and most likely called XXL to form an alliance to prevent being blacklisted from hip-hop journalism all together.

But yeah I am very sick of it, I actually had gotten both magazines for a few years but my subscriptions ran out and I never renewed it, and I don't plan to until they change...
