No, I think an armed populace will prevent such a thing, which is why Kristallnacht was preceded by the confiscation of firearms from Jewish homes.

Kristallnacht took place on Nov 10th. Looks like Hitler understood something you can't even do with hindsight.

Then when the Jews in the Warsaw ghetto got their hands on a few guns, they held back the German army for a month. Israel understands its lessons.

It bought them a month, mainly because the Germans didn't expect it. Then they died. They didn't prevent shit. They delayed it. They also got promptly shot when they had to give up (although I admit it's hardly worse compared to going to a death camp).

But hey, if you think that, anno 2006, you can prevent your government seizing absolute power (as if) by having a few guns in the house, be my guest. It's the 21st century, comrade. If your government wants, it has power before you can say "sheeeit no". Or not. In any case, you and that 9mm are not going to make much of a difference. Not if the government gets the army on it's side. If it doesn't get the army, it's anarchy anyway and the gov. hasn't got much to say.


But you keep sacrificing those children for your hypothetical failsafe mechanism. Don't let it hold you back. Land of the free and all.

if it continutes this way, there'll be a shooting per week. wasnt there like 2 shootings in france before the montreal one, then the montreal one and then colorado and now the amish? thats without saying the 2 dudes they caught in quebec before they'd actually do a shooting.
