i'm not a noi member and i know that elijah mohammed created it. shit, i've even read some of his books. noi is for the black american muslim (with emphasis on males) and fundamentally no one else. in fact, a fair share of the tactics they employ goes directly against the teachings of allah according to traditional followers, but noi does what they do to accomplish extreme goals. if you're muslim then good for you, but claiming noi without knowing the facts of the organization's orientation and politics isn't such a good thing.

if by light hearted you mean childish. i am going to make the same point that i made in sofi's closed thread where we brought up the tru problem. he is a mod. he is supposed to set an example for the rest of the members of the board as a mod. acting like a child and making threads that take up bandwidth saying nothing but "sigh closes thread" on repeat, is childish and stupid.

Hey Puffy, don't get mad at me. I'm just stating my opinion. Honestly, I don't really know him. However, I know i've seen him posting around a lot before, and he keeps the mood light around here. I will agree that the thread was childish. I think he was just having a "mood swing" but a lot of other mods have "mood swings" as well, his was just a silly one. We're all human, just because someone is a mod doesn't take away their human factor. I think we oftentimes expect mods to be "superhuman" we don't want them to show that they're angry or sad or whatever when they post. However, as we all know, our attitudes are shown in our posts. It's in the language and tone of the read that we leave for others. And the same goes for all of us. When we're in a certain mood, our posts reflect our mood. The only difference is all of us do not have the power that goes along with it.

So, yeah, the thread was childish and stupid. Did it hurt anyone? No. Was it offensive? No. Was it serious enough for a permanent ban from someone who's a mod, and an active member who I've never seen cause a lot of trouble before. I think not.

Oh, well then perhaps I was just misinformed about his annoying antics.

Even if he was an ass though...there are steps that should be taken. That wasn't serious enough for a permanent ban. And if he was getting on everyone's nerves that bad...why wasn't he warned, his mod powers taken away, put on probation, etc. What happened to the system? Do the rules not apply because a few people don't like someone? I could see if he was a newer member but he's been here for years. I'm not defending him, per say. Just trying to look at this from another perspective.

Oh okay. It's probably more to it too, I mean, SiGh's a sweetheart and a good guy. He's also a good e-friend of mine, as he is everyone, lol. I'm sure he wouldn't have done something that harsh without reason. I didn't even know SiGh had banning powers. LOL. Ah well.
