I've been going over this in my head over and over and something doesn't make sense:

The Nexus 7 32GB will replace the 16GB version and will cost the same.
The Nexus 7 16GB was $199. So why is the 32GB version selling for $249 in Staples?
The 8GB version sold for $159 in the US and £159 in the UK. The 16GB version sold for $199 in the US and £199 in the UK - does that mean that the 32GB version will sell for £249?

I'm thinking that it'll be the case with the 3G version. Maybe the wi-fi only version will cost £199.

Just noticed that the Google Play Store on Android now has the My Wishlist option. Hopefully Gift Cards will soon come in along with Music.

Would be sick if they could announce these on October 29th as well.

Ah. I got the US prices wrong. I wish it was cheaper here. We end up getting it more expensive.

$199 = £124.28, but we pay £159 ($254.59).
$249 = £155.51, but we pay £199 ($318.64).

In Poland we'd end up paying over 300$ for the 8GB version and about 350$ for the 16GB. I'm so glad I bought that in the US because it's a great deal. It's still a good tablet for 300$ though.

It's not just the exchange rate we have to take into consideration though. There are all sorts of different areas of taxation.

Google reportedly set to announce 10-inch high-res Samsung Nexus tablet with Android 4.2

Google and Samsung will announce a new 10-inch tablet codenamed "Manta" at itsOctober 29th event, according to The Next Web. If the sites unnamed sources are to be believed the Manta will feature a 10-inch 2560 x 1600 display with an iPad-beating pixel density of around 300ppi. The tablet, which if real will likely be released as the Nexus 10, will reportedly be sold alongside the existing Asus Nexus 7 and new LG Nexus 4 as part of a multi-manufacturer Nexus program. There aren't any further details on the purported Nexus 10; processor and pricing will be key to the tablet's success.
At the same event, Google will announce a slight refresh to its Nexus 7 line, bringing HSPA+ 3G connectivity to the tablet for the first time, as well as the now-confirmed internal storage bump. The Next Web also reports that both the Nexus 4 and Nexus 10 will launch with an updated OS, Android 4.2. It named "content in the center" (a new Play Store Widget), "Tablet Sharing" (multiple user accounts on one device), and horizontal and vertical panoramic photo capture as headline features for the new OS. It's not clear if Google will release 4.2 under a new codename or if it will still be named Jelly Bean. Although, as with any rumor, these details should be taken with a pinch of salt, The Next Web seems pretty certain that its sources are accurate.​

That would make the Nexus program pretty amazing. I'd totally consider getting that tablet if the price was good. I'm such a fan of Nexus tablets.

Having the Nexus 7 it makes me anticipate those Google events so much more - knowing I'll get to try that new Android version soon after announcement.

also, the SGIII is $279 dollars as a best price upgrade on T-Mobile with a 2 year contract. what happened to $200 phones with two year plans?

And yeah, smartphones are expensive these days, and the SGS3 is the most expensive Samsung smartphone so far (except the Note and Note 2 duo).

I already have 2 tablets.

Why would I upgrade? I can see no reason for more powerful tablets, or higher resolution screens. All you can really do on a tablet is browse the internet or watch media. I have my laptop and my TV, both of which I prefer to my Transformer Prime..!

LG Optimus G has gotten pretty decent scores as of late - even with the build which has been described as 'elegant'
Main issue is the software/Modified OS.

Who knows, maybe the LG Nexus will surprise.

Look at the benchmark scores of those 4 Krait cores:

608 in Linpack. The second fastest device, which is the Galaxy Note 2 scored 214. It basically rapes everything if it comes to raw processing power.
The phone is good but as it's said everywhere, the software is the biggest problem. It limits the phone big time, that's also why it scores so low in other benchmarks (the lowest Javascript performance of ALL this year's flagships, for example). The hardware inside is amazing, but the package is limited by lack of skills from LG in making a decent smartphone, I'd say.

That's why the Nexus is cool. I'm eager to see how the Exynos will compare to the s4 pro. They're usually neck an neck, one out performs the other in one area but not by a significant margin so it doesn't really matter but I'd still like to know.

I hope the Galaxy s 4 has edge to edge screen or something

^ Yeah, I'm all for an edge to edge screen. I'm looking forward to a phone with one of those as I hate those bezels. I think they're good for people with super-fat hands.

If it comes to the Exynos, the raw processing performance is less than a half of the S4 pro. The raw per-core performance is almost 3 times as high on the S4 pro so most of the benchmarks are surprising. Review sites blame the software.

Oh, ok. I thought you meant the A9 Exynos, because in many benchmarks the SGS3 matches the Optimus G.

Personally I'd rather see them use ARM's big.LITTLE architecture in SGS4 and 5450 in tablets, as it's certainly power hungry.

I hate comparisons of phones that don't have stock software. I'm sure the Optimus G with cm10 or something on it will fly. That's why I'm waiting to see the Nexus benchmarks, not prototype versions of it either.
