A guy at work has the one x. But he has a rugged case, so I haven't really got a good look. I don't use cases or screen protectors, and my phones are always mint.

yeah, me neither. I'm also OK with the fact that I wil only use the phone for 2 years so there's no point in keeping it mint. I mean, I will try, but won't go out of my way. Also, cases ruin the look and size of the phones.

Samsung rumoured to announce the Galaxy Note 2 in August, launch in October​

Samsung has done well with their phone/tablet – some call a “phablet” – Galaxy Note. By now well over 5 million units have been sold around the world and Rogers, Bell and TELUS all carry the device. Rumours are that Samsung is coming out with its next-generation, possibly called the “Note 2.” According to a report in the Korean-based MK News, sources “familiar with the matter” say that Samsung will potentially make an official announcement in August at this year’s IFA in Berlin, then have it available to the masses in October. The specs will get a bump up, rumoured to come with a 5.5-inch display, have a 12 or 13MP camera (up from 8MP) and packed with a quad-core processor, running Android OS 4.1 Jelly Bean.​

It's an unofficial UK magazine. There are dozens of unofficial tech magazines over here. You can get Windows ones, iOS ones, Linux ones, etc etc etc.

I've browsed through it a few times in the newsagent but I doubt I'd ever buy it, the info isn't any different to what's on any decent Android blog.

It's an unofficial UK magazine. There are dozens of unofficial tech magazines over here. You can get Windows ones, iOS ones, Linux ones, etc etc etc.

I've browsed through it a few times in the newsagent but I doubt I'd ever buy it, the info isn't any different to what's on any decent Android blog.

Now that I look at it, it looks like real piece of shit magazine.

Oh well.

It will be interesting to see another open-source OS in the mobile platform picture (along with Android and Ubuntu mobile). I think their focus on low end devices is a good move. This route was one way that Android gained a lot of market share upon iOS and BlackBerry OS.

The major benefit of Android is that it has an implementation of the majority of Google's services. Mozilla on the other hand would only be able to implement Firefox, Thunderbird and whatever else they have. But it will work well with HTML 5.

Fucking shit, they did. I just came across an article today that said Thunderbird was an "essential" app for OSX users. I just downloaded and installed it for the first time ever not two hours ago.

Firefox is dying. Nobody is going to use their OS. Almost all Google Chrome users are ex-Firefox users. Opera doesn't suffer at all, IE a bit. Chrome effectively killed Firefox.

I do like the stock OSX Mail app. I was just giving Thunderbird a shot to see if it was any different. It was not.

I have used Sparrow as well. It's nice, but nothing different from Mail either. For me, at least. I'm no expert user that needs extra features. I just get my class PowerPoints in the mail, and even then, I log in to GMail, view the PowerPoints, and then save them to Drive for later viewing and to back them up.

I once read that prior to the launch of Chrome, most of the contributions to the Firefox browser were made by Googlers.

CyanogenMod 10 development to start immediately. All CM9 devices will get CM10. Win.
