Wow. I didn't expect this with a Sony logo. They were supposed to start releasing Sony phones starting on 2nd half of this year and releasing this phone that late is pointless.
Anyway the phone looks too big and bulky to me even now. Arc is already kind of big to me, despite being much slimmer.

If it comes to the Android hate article it repeats a lot of common mistakes (like that Android prototypes were Blackberry ripoffs and the G1 was an Iphone rip-off because Iphone has been announced) and actually yeah, most was based on bullshit, some on Google political decisions and Google hate (often bullshit too) and circles around Google pretty much being carrier's bitch. A pretty silly reason to "hate Android".

I didn't get that far. I dropped off when the article lacked facts and then I couldn't be bothered to read any more.

Why do we have to pick a side, why can't he like the iphone and android? Why does liking one mean you dislike the other?

I think Sony are making their first mistakes with those phones. Ion would sell outside of America, but Americans might not really feel it. And Xperia S.. I don't know. I'm not really feeling it. I mean, it looks like a great phone on paper but it's too big to me.

The Sony Xperia S will be coming to Canada soon, carrier unconfirmed but it’s absolutely en route. The device is a natural progression from the Xperia X10, then the arc. It sports a 4.3-inch display (resolution of 1280 x 800), runs Android OS 2.3.7, but will be upgraded to OS 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich sometime in Q2 2012. In addition, the Xperia S has a 1.5GHz dual-core processor with 12-megapixel camera that shoots 720p HD videos. We had a quick hands on of the Xperia S (video here), but one of the cool features that it comes with is “Fast Capture”. Basically this allows you to snap a pic from the standby mode within 1.5 seconds. No more turning the phone on, finding the camera icon, launching the app, then taking the pic. You simply have to hold down the dedicated camera button and quickly take the picture, then share. The video above goes head-to-head with a Galaxy Nexus and the homescreen camera feature found in Android OS 4.0. It’s a great addition to the device and certainly saves you a couple seconds… which is important when you want to capture the moment.​

The Motorola Droid RAZR Maxx for Verizon will pack a 3300mAh battery, lol. I wonder how will it fit in a rather slim body. It's over double the capacity of an average smartphone battery. Pretty awesome.

Can't battery technology go the way of processor and shrink in size but increase in capacity?

Depends. With casual li-ion technology it was hard, because of energy "density" of materials used (currently cobalt cathodes). There are new awesome technologies but they're not being used in consumer mobile devices. So for the last 10 or so years the battery technology simply haven't evolved as far as consumer devices are concerned. Perhaps it will pretty soon since there are superior technologies out there already.
