Define "facility." An online unlock tool like HTC did? There's a difference between what I did with my Droid and what HTC Sensation users have. I rooted my Droid. I voided my warranty (when it was still active). Motorola had no clue. If something went wrong, I revert back to stock and Motorola has no clue.
The Sensation, on the other hand, gets unlocked, HTC is notified and your warranty is voided. The speaker on your handset blows out. HTC tells you to go eat a bag of dicks with some hot sauce.
That's why this is not OK.
Going to go buy a new phone today. Initially I wanted to Motorola RAZR, but to be honest, Im just sick of Motorola as their devices always break on me and having locked bootloaders. The Samsung Nexus is simply too big for me, and the camera sucks, so Im actually leaning towards to Samsung Galaxy S2, which is a very weird feeling, considering it's not "new."

If you can't wait any longer - GS2 is the way to go, but if you can wait you should. In February Sony, Samsung, LG and HTC will be unavailing their upcoming line-up, one which is a SG3 (rumored 2 gigs of ram, 12mp camera and [maybe] a quad processor)

The GS2 seems like a good choice for right now. Nothing in the future tickles my fancy. I'm gonna go out there and say it, the design of a lot of the modern Android phones suck dick. I realize that's a subjective criteria to judge a phone on, but I haven't seen many phones that have beautiful designs.

Android users are always so critical of their devices. Which is why HTC are getting a lot of shit over the Prime. Where as Apple fans... Sorry... I meant users... Don't seem to mind if there was an issue. Last year IOS4 caused everyone to be late for work when the alarms fucked up. But no-one complained.
If I had a need for a tablet (and I could get hold of one) I'd snap up the Prime. But I don't, and I can't, so I haven't.

It's a totally new Android version and the source code was released only a few weeks ago, when it was already out on the Galaxy Nexus. So those 0,6% are basically Google Nexus owners + people who installed an unofficial rom. I think that's a freaking huge number if you ask me since it translates to a few million devices running ICS already.
The procedure to get your phone certified for a new OS version takes longer than that, unfortunately. Basically manufacturers have to get their whole HARDWARE certified all over again because of this.
Sony Ericsson are super awasome with this since they made a really huge thing out of that update and they seem to be the fastest and their updates are scheduled for March. For all of their modern phones, including minis, and low-ends. That's really fast.

If there's one thing webOS has gotten right and what I love about the OS is the multitasking and how easy it to switch between open programs. I really recommend you try out webOS just for that. Android needs to incorporate that, instead of the "hold Home button" method.
In other news, I'll be getting ICS for my TouchPad soon. Well, maybe within a month. I've heard it's not days away, but weeks. It'll be a good V-Day present.

The pictures here are believed to be the upcoming Sony Ericsson MT27i “Pepper” – a device that will most likely be officially announced next week at CES, and is a follow-up to the Xperia neo (never made it to Canada). Specs of the entry-level Xperia have it coming with a 1GHz dual-core processor, a 3.7-inch touchscreen display with a resolution of 480 x 854, 5MP camera and captures 720p HD videos. There also looks to be a front-facing camera, plus this will most likely run OS 2.3 Gingerbread. A few more pics after the break…
