Soon as they announce GB, the next day they're already showing Honeycomb off. Bastards. Does it ever end?

If the Nexus S is supposed to indicate the direction in which Android is moving, why did they remove the microSD card slot and the LED notifications on the S? I don't care if they're antiquated, I like them. You can give me a terabyte of internal memory, I still need a gig or two in microSD space for ROMs, music, etc. Plus, I have an SD reader and adapter and most of the time, it's faster for me to just pop out the microSD card, put it in the adapter and transfer tons of files that way, and then just plug it back in. Much faster than plugging it in and waiting for it to recognize it, mount it, unmount it, etc.

Don't start with the LED notifications. Who doesn't love those?

New GB keyboard is nice and accurate, but the word prediction still isn't there. I downloaded the .apk that said it had been fixed. Not really.

Requires FroYo.

The SAME day, actually. LOL.

6.1 stable is noticeably faster than 6.1 RC even without wiping or flashing a new radio or kernel.

Downloading UD 2.4. Supposed to have "Gingerbread Goodies" which I hope is more than just turning everything green and applying that GB keyboard that was released today.

Google Exec: More Than 300K Android Phones Activated Daily

300,000 a day = 9 million activations a month. 5x increase from just last February when it was 60k activations a day.

Impressive.

I had a running bet with someone last year where I assured him that Android would have dominant market share worldwide by 2012. It already does in US and Japan. I think it's safe to say I'm going to win that bet.

yes, that's right. just want to update the radio and kernel if i can for better performance. then the ROM of course to make it run on a stable release.

My aggin.

If you want the new radio and kernel with 6.1 then the best way to do it is to follow these...

First go here

CM6.1 2708port (for new radio+spl) [unofficial] - CyanogenMod Forum

I'm assuming you don't have ADB/fastboot set up yet so you'll need to go here as well(as it says in that first link I showed you)

[GUIDE] ADB, Fastboot, and Nandroid for Noobs - xda-developers

Then for the radio kernel and shit go here

2708+ enabled kernel [14MB ram with radio 2.22.27.08/2.22.28.25 & hboot 1.33.0013d] - xda-developers

So you'll want to get ADb/fastboot set up first, then flash the new radio and kernel, then go with 6.1 and make sure the port is 2708. Keep in mind Cyan hasn't adapted the new radio yet so you can still flash 6.1 with the 2005 radio, the one you most likely have now.

Truth be told I think biffmod's rom is better than 6.1, it's faster straight up. You can make the rom look like anything you want with a few apps so I just go for speed. biffmod is based off of CM though so it's not like it's that much different.

^Yeah my battery has been fucked since like RC1 maybe. People are trying to figure it out though, hopefully a fix comes in soon. A lot of people are saying it's the new kernel but this seems to be across the board on CM roms

i did that not too long ago, doesnt do the trick. battery drainage has been a frequent issue in recent CM roms. battery life was terrible on RC1 but seems to be better than is currently on stable.

OK, good. Nothing Aron said makes me not want to get the Nexus S. :D

But no, I understand your concerns but I don't share them. SD Slot I don't care for, HSPA+/4G I don't care for at this point because the adequate infrastructure isn't there yet (a bunch of places don't even get 3G), any phone faster than my un-clocked/un-fucked with G1 is good enough for me, I don't care for the physical qwerty. Also, considering that the Galaxy S is arguably the best Android phone out, if not it's top three, I think an updated Galaxy S is not a bad thing but a great thing. New phones will always be coming out and I was able to withstand 2 years of Android growth without succumbing to like a Motorola Droid or HTC EVO so I'll be OK if Aron has a better phone in June 2011 :D.

My only concern is the T-Mobile individual plans. I haven't looked at them in a while but the shit is ridiculously expensive now.
