this track right here represents everything that is destroying 2pac's legacy...

ask yourself who has creative control of amaru endorsed retail projects? for those who didn't know, it's none other than my avatar, big malk aka edi. likewise, the outlawz have continually dismissed candyman and even storm as illegit or otherwise not down for pac's [new] music. well, as many of you relaized this year, storm never left "to start a family" or whatever reasons that were perpetrated by the outlawz throughout the years as justification for her removal and lack of new verses on remixed songs. likewise, the outlawz have major beef with candyman and refuse to work with the man. for fans who question candyman's legitimacy, his work and touring with shock g (arguably the main man who is standing up to try to preserve the legacy as pac wanted it), digital underground, ms. fula, and storm should fulfill whatever resume that would qualify him as someone worthy of respect.

so as it pertains to this track, this version that is posted in this thread is indeed the version that was submitted and approved for retail release. just like the editing on uteot, shock and candyman were not notified of changes to their work, and subsequently candyman and the 2pac scratches (which are incredibly dope) were removed for the retail release version. this is all over petty beef and the feelings of inadequacy by those in control (see above) and the fear that someone else (candyman) will be stepping up to represent the principles and artistry that 2pac embodied. end of story, the changes to this track represent cowardice and envy, and what could have been the best song on the album was fundamentally watered down into a tame and rather forgettable track. kudos, outlawz.

i'll qualify this post by stating that it contains information that i have learned from a variety of places, and i'm not simply acting as a mouthpiece for candyman. i'm not a pawn and i want the truth to be known about what went down. now, let's hope that candyman gets his rightful royalties since they so errantly forgot to remove his adlib layer from the retail version back when someone was butchering an otherwise perfect song.

Word...ain't even "The Outlawz" as much as just Edi. but still true seeing as how kastro, edi and napo change some of their verses from when they originally recorded with Pac, which is what he would want people to hear, not some new lyrics, 10 years later, having nothing to do with the intended mindset of the song a decade ago.
