Okay so , i watched it for the second time today . It was a very , very long time since i last watched it . Damn , i was blown away , yet another movie that you start to appreciate as you get older.

Anyways so my question was , and apparently it has never been answered , what actually happened in the end? Did that shit just manifest in his head? Or did this shit actually happen . Cause that one scene with the real estate agent is bugging me , the look on her face really makes me sure that he did kill all them people.

The whole point of the ending was, even if he killed the people or not. He wouldn't ever be caught since nobody cared. His entourage was a bunch of snobby know-it-all business men that cared about their own interests. Even the detective was lenient on him, didn't you notice how the detective seemed me like a push-over?

If it was someone of lower social class, that detective would be stalking and riding his ass.
