For getting REALLY annoyed at people giving replies that don't properly reply to the previous post? I always want to point out why they're not giving a proper reply. It's not a big deal, I know, but still I always feel the need. It especially annoys me if the person giving a shitty ass reply uses sarcasm or any tone that isn't humble.
EDIT: It also annoys me when people give irrelevant information when giving arguments. (Just got annoyed by a post :))

We can turn this into a thread where people quote replies that don't reply properly. It will benefit us all!

(I know Rukas gets annoyed with this too. http://www.2pacboard.com/forum/thread135764.html It's not the same thing but I can see that he's annoyed by 'stupid' replies)

a detailed post.

When did I mention anything about detailed (or lack there of) posts?

Not replying properly is the opposite of replying with a detailed post?
Not reply properly = not replying with a detailed post?

I'm not perfect so I've done it too.

I'm expecting someone to come in this thread and quote a post by me that doesn't reply properly and say "". So to save me that annoyance, I never claimed I haven't.
I'd actually like it if someone pointed out exactly why my post isn't 'correct'. I can learn from my mistakes in logic :)

Beautiful example of posts that annoy the shit out of me.

my posts never make sense neway but I do think ppl should explain thei views a bit more...

saying you like this song for this reason ya know?

Naming a song is easy explaining why u like it is a lot harder...

I was going to write a long, detailed post that had nothing to do with this thread, but I figured this would probably be the wrong thread to be a smart ass in.

The problem is that people are stupid or lazy. In the first thread you gave Chronic, they were just too lazy to look at it themselves. And in the extended metaphor thread, that guy just felt the need to tell everyone what everyone already knows: he's a guy on 2pacboard that loves 2Pac. That would be stupid and unnecessary.

Nah, I'd probably laugh at it.

I didn't express that correctly. That's not the type of post I meant with this thread. It's basically people replying to things that aren't there. Lack of logic pisses me off.

Truth.

Yeah it really does shit me. So lets brainstorm and work out how to stop it, or minimize it at the very least. More mods? More SuperMods? And then, do we need to clamp down more, close entire threads when this happens, or just delete the posts? Probate/Ban people for doing it?

Maybe not close entire threads because it may be something that people want feedback on and the people that want to post revelant replies can't because the thread is closed. You could delete the post and give a warning the first time, then probation, then ban them. Three strikes you're out, ya know?
Just a thought.

I's really annoying.
The worst case was that thread Rukas made in Entertainment tonight about the new pictures of Xbox360.
Argh, soon enough it became an arguement about PS3 vs Xbox 360, and then PS2 vs Xbox. I was just irate, and i know ruk was too because he snapped it at a few people too.
And Ruk, i'm all for what you said:

I'd say a few more supermods would do the trick, only if we also implimented the deleting posts rule. I know we've always been against deleting posts - but I don't think there'd be a problem at all if off-topic posts were just deleted, then it wouldn't take away from the thread. Of course, just the soft-delete in case, for any reason, we'd need to look @ the particular post/reply again. But like I said, more supermods wouldn't really do anything better unless we had the delete rule as well.

Peace

More mods and a new probation system. You need to be harder on people, another couple of Admins wouldn't be bad either seeing as countless people have been banned and returned.
Super Mods should have the ability to ban people, they might already I'm not sure. But I wouldn't mind having each major part of this Forum have 10+ mods, it isn't going to hurt anybody.
On the new probation system, that is for you to figure out but it should be something to do with them being publicly ridiculed, and a couple of more stages to probation other than just "This user is on probation, please report break in guidlines to the Admins". Maybe some probation officers? (that sounds lame as fuck, but the Super Mods could do this too) I duno man, but there should be a hell of a lot more stupid posters banned/probated.

I don't like what you are saying at all. Are you nazi? geez....

I think you guys are taking it too serious. I know it is annoying but you should just ignore it. Think of it this way, in real life during discussions people say all kinds of random, stupid shit that doesnt even touch the topic of the discussion. If you told them to piss off everytime there wouldnt eb anyone left to discuss anything with. I think you guys just take this too serious. It's a message forum where people express themselves and annoying lil stupid comments that are off topic are just part of their personality or whatever.

I would still agree on more MODs but there should be more rules for the admins and someone should keep an eye on them. I know there is a guideline for admins but it should be strict. Threads should be closed if absolutly needed. I say this because many people don't like too much being forced upon them if you know what i mean. its almost 6 am and i am probbaly not making much sense but i'll give it anotehr try. The admins need to loosen up a little bit more and give the users a bigger sense of freedom while letting them know that the rules can not be broken and will be enforced no matter what.

Anyways i hope i was any help. Good luck.
