Nice Lineups, I don't understand why people keep voting for Vince Carter, but other than that I like it.

I woulda thought the fans may have voted either Steve Nash or Ray Allen into either of the guard positions but other than that, they look pretty much expected..Would be amazing to see Grant Hill in a starting all-star lineup.

and i dont get the vince carter thing either
What's not to get? he has huge hops and always has been a fan favorite, this has nothing to do with performance or skill, or else there may be a bunch of role players in the team knowing the NBA this season, and who would tune in to watch that?

It's based on the aura(?) surrounding the player, past talent, unproven talent etc. i.e. popularity, simply it's a weekend for the fans to see what they want.

whats not to get? vince carter himself said he doesnt dunk as much as he used too, he plays extremely lazy, he even said he threw raptors games earlier in the year, just look at the raptors record since hes gone, hes a big spoiled baby who gets pampered by his mommy/agent and the only people i see voting for this guy are under 10 year olds or people who only watch sportscenter highlights and not whole games and know nothing about the nba

a bunch of role players at the all star game? carter doesnt deserve to be there and theres plenty of players who ARENT "roleplayers" who should be starting

I'm quite sure that most of the fans who vote for this only watch sportscenter highlights, definately not whole games and also know next-to-nothing about basketball aside from what people talk about, and players are built into myths that don't go away for a few years until the public goes almost entirely against them...with vince carter as an example, he will prob be voted in again next year, because these people voting dont look at him as a player, they probably haven't seen him play in a game (that wasnt on sportscenter) since 2003, but they remember him as a younger man who could dunk like crazy, and as a result they are voting for that, the myth surrounding the man.

vince fucking carter over Ben Wallace? is this a fucking joke? the nerve of dumbass NBA fans these days

its also surprising to not see Steve Nash on the west, although Bryant and McGrady are having great years as well, they're both shooting guards...

yeah bryant and tmac are good.. but look at what Nash has done.. guess the NBA fans don't appreciate white, Canadian basketball stars...

i think its absurd fans decide who is an allstar and who starts, allstars should be more deteremined by coaches and less by fans

yeah, remember when Jason Giambi got voted to start in the MLB all-star game last summer?

the all-star game is supposed to be about the best players, not the most famous washed up players (ie Carter)

oh well :(

u all know its ridiculous that dwayne wade isn't starting...he's better than lebron and iverson and for those who think i'm nuts i am an enormously huge knicks fan and it pains me to admit how good the heat are

i've watched almost every heat game from last year and also this year and wade is unreal...he is a freak and i think he may be one of the quickest players of all time
