R&B star Akon is adding author to his resume after signing a deal with rapper-turned-publisher C-Murder.
The "Lonely" singer will release a book, Thug Politics, later this year (08) through C-Murder’s company TRU Publishing, following the success of rapper Jacki-O’s title Grown And Gangsta, which went on sale last month (Feb08).
C-Murder - real name Corey Miller - Akon and Jacki-O will also join a literacy scheme to promote the books, as well as literacy among children and teenagers, according to sources.
Miller released his critically-acclaimed debut novel Death Around The Corner in 2006, which has gone on to sell an estimated 70,000 copies.
