Weird some of the inconsistencies in those ages, like Austria for example - two females can legally have sex at 14, but two males only at 18... Or Hong Kong where a male and female can have legally have sex at 16, but two males at 21...and two females isnt considered. Interesting.

Male homosexuality is still frowned upon & as such, tends to carry a higher age of consent than both female homosexuality & heterosexuality - although the UK used to operate some sick rule where you only had to be 14. It wasn't so much that it had been decided upon, just that it had never been properly looked at. I guess they didn't want to think that stuff was happening.

Female homosexuality is frowned upon just as much as male homosexuality in some areas of the world, but mostly is seen lighter which I'd probably have to attribute to it being less common. I don't think countries focus that much on legislation for this - as can be seen on this site where some countries are completely without legislation for female homosexuality.

Also we need to keep in mind that there is a distinct gap between the numbers of male paedophiles & the number of female paedophiles & as such - in regards to homosexuality - males are more at risk.

^ Yeah, that's what I was getting at Calc, in not so many words. Inconsistencies in the criminal justice system = inconsistencies within society. Lack of legislation or lack of regard similarily reflects the internal perception of the occurence, or lack thereof perhaps.
