Advantages/Disadvantages of the European Union.

Since my people are probably soon going to betray Karadzic and Mladic, and hand them over to the Hague, there has to be something about the EU Union. I can probably google this, but maybe we can get a discussion going or something like this.

Most advantages are economic, one currency, easier travel, easier to find work and compete on an international market. It effectivly makes Europe into one big country, that also provides smaller countries protection against larger threats.

It is very flawed though.

Its a political means to Hitler's ends. (Minus killing the Jews of course.)

The EU is similar to what Abdul Nasser wanted to do during his riegn, which was unify the whole Arab region. Unfortunately, he was mysteriously assassinated. Just like every other Arab who strides towards such a cause.

Back to the topic, the EU is a big competitor for the US. The Euro is now worth more than the dollar, which says a lot. Also, just like Rukas said, it makes it easier and safer for all the other European countries that lack the military strength to defend themselves.

Actually, I applause their effort toward unity.

^I say "betray", because they were the Serb leaders in the war in Bosnia. You have to understand, Serbs are very loyal people. Many Serbs have known his whereabouts for the last ten years and still do. The thing is, Carla Del Ponte and other European officials have said that they will consider having Bosnia and Serbia join the EU Union sometimes in the future, if we hand Mladic and Karadzic over. Since I was in Bosnia this summer, I've noticed serbian people here and there, agreeing that Karadzic and Mladic must be captured. Therefore, there has to be something about The EU Union, that would have my people betray their whereabouts. The only way for them to catch Mladic and Karadzic, is if Serbs betray them, because they are guarding them. That's why NATO constantly harasses his family, other Serbs, and even Church leaders. This summer, without any notice, NATO arrested Karadzic's son without a warrant and held him for more than a week, without releasing any information as where they took him. When they released him, his family went to the media and in tears, pledged Karadzic to hand himself in. Hmm...

Where on Earth did you get the idea that Nasser was assasinated? Maybe you were thinking of his successor, Anwar Sadat, who was assasinated by Islamic extremists.

Whatever implication/inference you were trying to make with the other sentence makes even less sense when you realize Sadat was assasinated for doing the exact opposite of Nasser (negotiating with Israel)

Point taken, man. I know the situation, just wondered if you view it really as "betrayal" in a negative sense. Even though they (Mladic and Karadzic) are "their people" it doesn't make them any less of a mass murderer.

And i can understand they want those two captured. They're just as bad as a Saddam or a Hitler. Also orchestrating genocide.

Even though they (Mladic and Karadzic) are "their people" it doesn't make them any less of a mass murderer.

Also, they're my people, because I'm a Serb, lol. But, you have to understand it was a war. Technically, there is laws to be followed in war, but in war, there is no law. You do what you have to do to obtain territory and protect yourself from the enemy. I am not making excuses for them, but I can't let people label them as mass murderers without understanding this.

It was a war between ethnicities. Anything done in that war has to be labed as "destroy certain ethnicities". They didn't do anything that leaders of the Muslim and Croatian ethnicities didn't do. Mladic and Karadzic just did it really well, that's all. Again, I urge you to watch the documentary.

I would have been anhiliated and my whole ethnic group would be gone if it wasn't for them. Alija had plans of making Bosnia strictly a Muslim country, which was one of the reasons that led to war. Where would I be without them? The murder wasn't organized, it was an act of crisis and lack of time. It was a battle, in a way. We penetrated enemy lines and captured the city. Most people were able to escape, some didn't. War is murder. In war, you kill people, and murder, in general, cannot be justified. Here's the situation in Srebrenica, in a nutshell. Mladic didn't have much time and had a couple thousand muslim people in his hands, not knowing what to do. Most of them were captured with guns in their hands, some civilians. When you watch the videos and see 16 year old Muslim kids shot in the back, do you think they did not have weapons on them in the first place, lol? Anyways, he didn't have time and had to act accordingly. He had to clear them out. Unfortunate, really.

As for you seeing them as mass murderers, I can live with that. By definition, they are. I just wanted to help you understand where I'm coming from, that's all. If you don't agree and I know you don't, that's fine. I don't expect you to.

Hitler wanted to unify Europe and make it one large Germany, he thought he could do it through war and failed. Now they have done it through peaceful politics.

A unified Europe under peace is fine, but, still has the potential to be as dangerous as a unified Europe run by Hitler.

I know Nasser wasn't violently assasinated. However, he died a mysterious death. Don't tell me he had a heart atttack or any of that bs. And, I know who's Nassser and who's Anwar. plus, no Muslims had nothing to do with Anwars death. It was Egyptian citizens who opposed his political agenda at that time. And, my sentence was never regarding Anwar.
