prior to 2004, his career stats were:

5 and a half years: .261 BA, 99 home runs, 389 RBI, 55 SB

in 2004 he was: .334 BA, 48 home runs, 121 RBI, 7 SB

in 2005, he banks on a $11.4 million contract with Seattle and is expected to be the guy who can finally get Ichiro more runs (considering Ichiro had a .372 avg and seattle still sucked balls)

what are his 2005 stats through 60 games? .244 BA, 5 home runs, 30 RBI and 1 stolen base

is this guy the biggest fraud/take-the-money-and-run player in sports?

my condolences to any Seattle Mariner fans on this forum, I feel your pain (my team has to deal with the bonehead aquisitions of Jason Giambi, Kevin Brown, Randy Johnson and Jaret Wright)

you asshole, you made this thread on purpose lol.

Beltre is still pretty young though, but yeah, he is no where producing the way he should be, i'm sure he'll be fine. He's been doing alot better lately, till he fucked up his hamstring.

Yankees are still the most pathetic team by far, what kind of losers spend all that money and are still barely hitting the .500 mark.

A-Rod is a jinx, trust me, he didn't do as good last year and the Yankees were ok, then he starts doing great this year, and the team sucks. Just like in Texas and Seattle.

A-Rod a jinx? How ya figure that one???

A-Rod is one of the top all-around players in the league... his stats have always been remarkable, he plays with consistancy, and is clutch when called upon.

His stats this year are very impressive as well.

Sure the Yanks are horrible so far this year, but he has definitely been the bright spot for that organization this season.

He was ranked really high in the yahoo fantasy baseball. I think he was in the top 10? He had a "Kevin Mitchell" season. Remember him? But yeah I think he is a fraud no matter what team he goes to. Even with the Dodgers!

nah, i agree about the Beltre comment too lol.

As for A-Rod being a jinx, his stats being incredible this year is my point.

He was the MVP of the American League when he was on the Rangers, and they were the last place team in the AL West. Then when he got moved from Texas to New York for Soriano, the Rangers were the best team in the AL West for most of the season the next year.

When he played for Seattle, he did great, but Seattle never did that well as a team.

Last year he did 'ok' for his standards, and the Yankees did pretty good, made the ALCS. This year he is doing GREAT, but the team sucks.

See what i was saying?

That's my point.

He's been the 'bright spot' for every below-average to bad team he's played on, like the Rangers, and part of his stint in Seattle as well.

He wasn't the bright spot last year for the Yankees, and they did good, he is the best player in the AL so far this league, and the Yankees are a .500 team.

you act as if Mark Texiera, Michael Young, Hidalgo, Blaylock, and the entire Rangers pitching staff didnt have anything to do with the Rangers winning. Not to mention that Soriano is a good player as well.

when you've got the American Leagues ERA leader its no surprise to see the Rangers so successful

A-rod himself wasnt the problem, his contract was.

its shame that they dont pay players by performances after season instead of giving them bloated contracts even before ever playing a single game for team

im hoping for the yankees to acquire back Bill Clemens because theres no one in pitching staff worth looking up to, the way he's pithcing worth every of 18 million contract...so if it means they have to continue sliding so be it! :)

hip hip jorge~!~

Yeah, those are all good points.

But you'd think a team with the MVP would be a little better than last place in their division.

wha?? that is his name...ask Bank Robber he will tell u it so is :) its a shame that Bill will be cheated out of an 8th Cy Young awards this year because his team cant even score a run
thats why the yankees should get him back so they can do justice to his quality pitching :thumb:
