Its not hard to do, people just complicate it because they think homosexuals are so different from us when they're really not at all

Not everyone 'believes' in marriage. You don't need that piece of paper to show how committed you are to one another.Pittsey said:I don't know. I'm unsure on my stance on both.
If they are committed enough to adopt a child why are they not prepared to get married to show that committment to the world. If you want the rights of a married couple then you should get married. And that is coming from someone who isn't a fan of marriage. I just think if you are going to adopt a kid, you should be prepared to show you are committed to your partner. Otherwise they should make it easier for single people to adopt too.
Depends on what you mean by "natural". Homosexuality occurs in nature, doesn't that make it natural? And I'm undecided on the gay part too. It isn't natural, and you can't argue with that.

Besides, what's to say that unnatural things are wrong? A lot of what we humans do is unnatural.
In what way does marriage prove your relationship is stable?Pittsey said:I don't believe in Marriage either. But to prove that I was prepared to offer a kid a stable future I'd do it. Although I admit my argument is pretty flimsy. I just say prove your relationship is steady, and marriage seems the easiest way.
Single couples? And if not, make adoption easier for single couples. Couldn't a single professional make a good parent too?
Just because two homosexuals can't procreate doesn't mean it's unnatural for them to be in a relationship. It's not natural because a woman is needed for child birth.
Don't feel inclined to reply about either.RFTP said:This thread has 2 issues to be discussed. Pick ur god damn issue and stick to it. I don't even know whether I should reply about gay-adoption or about unmarried couple having babies :S.
Amara said:I think they are trying to look at it from the child's position. Potential adoptive parents are severly scrutinized to ensure a safe and stable environment for children. That way a child may be placed somewhere that they will be loved and cared for. And if same sex parents can provide that, it should be encouraged with the full fledged support of society. That kind of scrutiny is a better deal than a hell of a lot of other children get... if only all potential parents were 'screened' - perhaps there would be less neglect, abuse or just plain dysfunction in the home.

It's unnatural for any couple to have a child that isn't theirs. Adoption is unnatural, surrogacy is unnatural, artificial insemination is unnatural. Infertile couples don't face the same opposition as gay couples, so it's clearly not an problem for couples to have children through unnatural, non-traditional means. Gay couples are specifically singled out.beReal said:but its unnatural for them to have a child!?

I bet 99% of kids in foster homes would rather be in a stable family environment.Pittsey said:I have nothing against gay people. I just would prefer to be in a foster home than have 2 dads, or 2 mums.
