I've got a dell, it's got a 80 gig h/d and a 40 gig h/d, im wanting to add a third h/d to it, it only has 2 places for h/d's, they're both full, would it work out for me to remove the floppy disk drive and replace the ide or eide cable with the one that will come with the new h/d, if so should i uninstall the floppy driver or what? please help.

Save your troubles and get an external one, they work really good and are not that expensive.

if you dont have space and dont want to disconnect anything, buy a PCI card that gives you 2 IDE slots. it costs like 5 dollars.

I thought about removing one, but it would take while for me to burn 40 gigs onto data dvds, which is part of the reason for the new h/d.
cpu right now is going between 2% and 18% depending on what i'm doing.
i'm thinking that the third one will prolly be between 120 and 180.gigs.

i think that i'll prolly do that and throw the 3rd h/d beneath the floppy drive since they're about the same size and all it should fit the second bay.
