Whats the point of marinating a steak in beer - your steak is only gonna end up tasting exactly like what your drinking at your barbecue. Its like going to a restaurant and ordering tomato soup, with a glass of tomato juice from the bar = no contrast in flavours.

You want your chicken to taste like chicken, and your beer to taste like beer.

Where as steak in beer and spices still is mostly a steak. The steak will have a slight beer flavor to it; your beer is not steak flavored is it?
