No-one is forcing you to read it. And I'm not sure people do get the picture, I mean, hearing about stuff like this on a regular basis, while depressing and sickening, should serve to reinforce the flaws in society whilst reiterating the role of the criminal law in issuing justice. There may not be much we can do directly, but having examples of the bad can surely serve only to make us appreciate the good.
