I am not the biggest hip-hop head through your eyes, only through mine.
Reading this forum I felt that the board missed a genuine thread thats hip-hop in it's purest. a'la Something that contained dope/ness both appealing to the masses and specified to the ostriches of the genre. So like a fiend itching myself at the need of another hit... Hip-Hop: Through Your Eyes.

DJ Krush

A reintroduction to one of my favorite producers, Japanese maestro DJ Krush whom has worked with such acts like Black Thought, Mos Def, X' Ecutioners, Common and such. I like to think of him as a fusion of styles in particular RZA/Pete Rock with perhaps a pinch of Diamond D thrown in for good measure. One of my favorites Krush songs is the Mos featured remix to The Light (Can You See). First time I heard it was on the Mos Def compilation We Are Hip-Hop* You* Me* Everybody*.

The album "Holonic" made of instrumentals with additional raw cuts featuring the likes of Prodigy (of Mobb Deep) on the standout in "Real". The album is like lounge music made in the midst of angst with plenty of old school hip-hop influences to keep heads interested. One of my favorite instrumentals off it Dig This Vibe is linked below, as is the entire LP.

Not that long ago Ruk posted a list he obtained from the net of someones worst top 10. Within the chaos names such as Guru from the legendary Gangstarr group were mentioned. The truth is with so many chambers/flava's/styles how ever you wanna say it in the game not everyone can be animated on the microphone which was one of the biggest 'problems' with Guru as stated on the list. However the old "who cares he can spit" came to mind.
Certified a J Dilla & Bilal featured Guru gem, which in my opinion shizz on alot of dudes current music. A funk sensation built around top notch lyrics sharp flow & delivery, harmonic melodies in the backdrop provided by Bilal and a Dilla beat that will hurt necks from over head nodding.

The song is one of many found within his Jazzamatazz series, the 4th recently dropped but here I provided a link to the original classic debut of Jazzamatazz.

As I get older, I find myself becoming ever more distant from the shizz that have most people now a days in awe (?Say What?). But what is evident is that hip-hop music especially material like this to me has become a tool to either amp up my emotions or calming me the *f* down. This one here is the 2nd. When I need to relax, chill out I'll throw in some Tribe. By the end of it i'll have a clearer state of mind and little to no stress.

Being yourself, turning the volume way up high and the results might be something quite serious. Exit: A Tribe Called Quest. Enter: Reggie "Redman" Noble.

Now you caught my heart for the evening
Kissed my cheek, moved in, you confuse things
Should I just sit out or come harder?
Help me find my way

Q-Tip:
Now why you wanna go and do that, love, huh?
Making things for me towards you harder
Killing me, just when I think we're there
You got the whole vibe and the flows in the air
Telling me 'bout next man
But next man ain't the nigga with the plan
Who got your heart in mind?
It's about time that you just unwind (come on)
