Apparently Irv Gotti, former head of Murder Inc. Records, is no longer as brave as he used to be. Could it be because a certain friend of his is now serving life behind bars?
According to reports there was "a stare-down match" between Irv and Universal distribution mate 50 Cent at the company’s chairman Doug Morris' Grammy viewing party at the Palm restaurant in L.A., across the street from the Staples Center.
Witnesses claim Gotti paid quick respects to Morris and beat a hasty retreat after the incident, dubbing 50 Cent the "stare-down winner."
The feud stems from comments Gotti allegedly made about 50 and other execs at Universal shortly after signing a deal with the distributor and after being acquitted of tax evasion in December.
“Irv started bad-mouthing 50 Cent, saying he was going to outsell him and that 50 was nothing. Irv even went so far as to say he was going to be the next president of Universal. It all got back to 50 - and other executives at Universal - and no one is happy with him right now. Especially 50," an industry insider reports.
Gotti's lawyer, Jerry Lefcourt said, "He has never said anything about 50 - it's just somebody bringing up old stuff.”
