5 Star Albums

#21
Me Against The world is straight hip hop makaveli 7 day theory set the pattern for modern day rap albums (a diss song,a love song, an optimistic song, a religious song,a party song) but is far from what hip hop means (lyrically speaking) when i started the thread i was thinking about albums with little use of commercialism and to be honest i was thinking about Rakim or other rappers or groups (Gangstarr)

albums like makaveli & MATW are pretty much a given in this board. If I enter a thread such as this & want to see what albums people think are classic, I don't want to read the same album every second reply. We all got the point Makaveli is a classic, woopty woo, now lets move on & mention something else...

@ Aristotle: I bump music from all over, not just the shit on MTV or from a certain region, so I want to know where people are coming from to know what to expect so to speak (every region has its own style).

I fell you on that. But if you try to get some people to even listen to this "different" music, they'll write a rapper off just from where he's from. You might not be trying to get people to listen to different shit but who knows.

If people write off an album or a rapper just because of the place he's coming from, it's their problem. I stopped caring about what people were listening to here a long time ago. The fact that we have 25 threads about G-Unit/Aftermath/Shady/whatever-is-hot-right-now-on-mtv every week proves my point. If people are tired of listening to the same wack ass love songs with a different bunk beat & an untalented R&B singer on the hook, they might consider checking the cats I & many other memebers here recomend. If they like whatever it is they hear on the Radio then its up to them.

@ VENOMOUS: Hell yeah, I heard Mr Mike - Wicked Wayz, shit is slumping. If you liked that album, you should check out "South Circle - Anotha Day Anotha Balla" he rips that one as well. If Eightball & MJG weren't on the same label, they might have been big like them.
