I'm interested in one thing about Velez. You guys had problems with Zrinjski? Long ago I heard that they kick Velez out of your staduim and occupied it and tried to shut down Velez. Was that true? I think that Zrinjski iz Croatian nationalistic team while Velez have fans from several nations. Is that true? Is Velez in first league of BIH?
yeh it's true... the city gave the "city stadium" to Zrinjski for free for 99 years in 1996... We play outside the city now... they tried to shut us down, they almost succeeded when they kicked us out in the 2nd league, We've been there 2 years now, with big problems... The team had no money at all before the fans across the world (literally...atlanta, copenhague, oslo, london) started to do "red nights" to raise money for the team... Now we have sponsors and everything....we havent lost this year, we are first 12 points clear off the second place...
In the 2 years, we finished 2nd 2 times... both times, we lost the 1st place in the last game... first year, the winning team(buducost banovici) bought a game from a team that won last year(jedinstvo bihac)... Last year, it was even worse, Zrinjski payed money to the team that we played against to do anything to win the game.. So when they took the lead in the 69th minute,they started to fall down, their bench players ran in the field and everything... you know, balkan business... Anyways, this year we changed everything, our old star players send money and equipment... we are rebuilding our stadium outside the city so we can play somewhere untill we get back at our old stadium
Funny thing is that the Zrinjski organisation has nothing against us playing in the same stadium as them... It's the city mayor who wants the city divided so he can get more money...meh...fuck it, well win one day
Velez mostar has fans from one nation, and thats the bosnian nationality, that's how all of the fans feel... There is muslims, catholics(me) and orthodoxes...
And I love Partizan... Zvezda are a bunch of nationalistic idiots
