Technology 360 vs. ps3

What most Americans dont realise is that most of the world have yet to recieve the benefits and services that the PS3 offers. Apparently there is a over a year left for people in eastern Europe to wait for full usage of the PS3 functions. Basically they paid 400 bucks for a console with half its functions and services.

Actually, I think it's less than half.

I am an American and I realize that PS3 is far from its potential. In fact, when the 360 is milking its last juices in the near future, the PS3 will have more room for improvement.

That is the future, this is the present. And at present, Sony pretty much ripped off Europe with the PS3. I would rather pay nearly 2/3rds for a console that is ready to go from the box. Not an overpriced machine thats not even fully ready for international and interactive action.

finally, someone said something that makes sense.

i can't hang with all this techy, blue-ray, hd, nonsense. i'm an average guy that wants to spend his hard earned money on something that will entertain me. something that will let me play the videogames i want to play.

i don't give a shit what company lost money, what that company will come out with next year or.... whatever. i'm just looking for something now and worth the money.

if PS3 comes out better two years from now, then i'll get a ps3 or ps4 or xbox 480. i don't give a fuck. long as it worth the money, i'll get it. all this loyalist shit just baffles me. it's a friggin game system. it's not your mother.

now with that said i'm leaning towards getting the x360. why? for the simple reason i said earlier, it's now and worth the money.

now what i would like to know is what problems people are having with the x360 for them to return them? i've been told of a cooling system your need to buy with it, cause it's burns up the disc without it. but whatever other problems does it have?

i'd rather go spend that money on strippers and drugs if getting either system is that much of a bitch.
 
Okay, I'll make it easier for you.

It's a long term investment. There's no sense in buying a console that will be outdated before its competitor, especially if you're going to buy the competition when you finally decide that it's better. And all that techy bullshit you don't understand is there to support the games you play.

When it comes down to it, it's the price. And when you actually educate yourself about the topic, you will understand that PS3 is well worth the money, more so than Xbox 360.
 
The only thing PS3 has on the 360 is blu-ray IMO. The processor and video card are the same. Graphics wise that is. I don't understand why everyone keeps saying what it will be. For the price Sony released the PS3 for shouldn't it have already had home on it or a good online? Why would you have to buy something for such a high price and wait years to finally get what you paid for? I don't get it. Sony is scrambling to do all this stuff now cause they haven't sold shit for consoles.

I'm no 360 fanboy but it just doesn't make sence to me. I think the PS3 is a great system when it finally reaches it's potential in five years. ;) The price drop is a great move and has me thinking about getting one by XMAS but why make the fans wait years to get to it's full potential? Don't try to scramble now, PS3 was the rushed system. They just couldn't let the 360 be the only next gen console out. And please don't show me some article or fact you goggled in five seconds about the graphics. I've seen them on the same HDTV and they weren't any different. The 360 actually looked a little better to me.

The main difference is between the PowerPC and Cell. At first, I shared the opinion of those who considered paying for the "potential" to be a gamble, but I'm starting to see it as less of a risky gamble. And when it comes to being rushed, it's really the 360 who's feeling the hurt from rushing. If you're considering getting a 360, I would wait because a new chipset is on the way.

Do not buy the intercooler for the 360! that will fuck up your console and Microsoft's warranty will not cover the repair. The cooler does not have its own power supply it feeds off of the 360's supply which in turn sucks too much energy from it an causes it to burn, do a google search an you will find pics of what that cooler does.

Like I said i had a 360 also, matter fact i have had 3 different ones. Its a good system but has a high failure rate. Now I have a PS3 the only problem I ever had was for some reason the controllers were not connecting to the ports. Called up Sony they paid for shipping to and back. Matter fact by the time my console reached them, they had already sent me a new one. Someone said PS3 was rushed, I don't think it was rushed at all, I think the lack of games problems is that Blu ray is difficult for alot of these studios to code. 360 on the other hand was very rushed an it shows in the high failure rate. Not only that the system has been out for 2 years now, why hasn't Microsoft worked this bug out? Anyway both are great systems man, I enjoyed my 360, go for what you enjoy.

Yea, I just did some research on the Intercooler, i'm removing mine now lol. Gonna find a USB powered cooler.

The same PS3 that you saw on shelves and the same PS3 that supposedly failed is the number one seller at Amazon after receiving a price cut of $100. What does that say? I think I said something like - "can't justify the price".
 
Sony recently announced that they are releasing a 80GB version of the PS3 that will include Motorstorm for $599.

I was seriously considering buying this version since i recently sold my ps3 but after reading the update that it will no longer be backwards compatible but instead will use emulation......aahhh.....no thanks! I'll stick and buy a 60 gb for $500. On a side note, ever since the price drop. PS3's sales have doubled just in these past few days.

Could the welcomed $100 price cut for Sony's PlayStation 3 be temporary? Reported comments from multiple Sony execs in online publications Gamesindustry.biz and Joystiq.com indicate so. The current PlayStation 3 model, which is equipped with a 60 GB hard drive, certainly has received a price cut to $499 and is available at that price right now - but Sony's recent statements indicate that model is no longer in production.

If that's accurate, once those sell out, which could take as little as 1-3 months, the only PlayStation 3 model that's available will be the just-announced premium version. Going on sale in August and equipped with an 80 GB hard drive and racing game Motorstorm, it'll set purchasers back $599. Barring further price cuts, holiday shoppers would potentially still be faced with a $600 PS3, although they'd be getting more for their money.
