Yesterday, the Sao Paulo Police started to move 765 inmates from the state's biggest criminal and drug gang PCC ( First Command from the Capital) to a maximum security prision 600km away from Sao Paulo . They were trying to split the organization that was planning this huge simultaneous insurgence @ more then 15 prisions around the State, just like they did in 2001 at 28 penitentiaries, involving thousands of inmates and hundreds of hostages.

The gang is controlled from inside the facilities, because them leaders and main heads are all in jail.

So, this movement by the cops triggered a big attack against police stations, patrols and off-dutty officers, since thursday more then 55 attacks occured at about 7 cities of Sao Paulo state, killing at least 25 cops, 3 civils and 5 gang members.

The practice is not new in Brazil, Rio de Janeiro is already used with attacks against police and governament buildings, so, as the 2 biggest Drug Gangs in Brazil had gatter together as allies (Red Command (CV) + PCC ) they exchange practices and ideas.

Today, 2 penitentiaries are under the control of the inmates with over 24 hostages, the moviment began minutes after the Gang Leader of PCC was transfered.

This is some news that I translate from a couple of Brazilian sites....just to let you know how fucked up things can be over here.

This is incredible. Some sort of guerilla war orchestrated from penitentiaries... It's strange that two biggest gangs in Brazil colaborate and act like allies and not as the sworn enemies. I blame goverment for all this happens. I don't justify the killings but such a big country should have some kind of social and economic program.

update:
Yesterday was another day of riots and attacks...
More 3 cops were killed when more then 50 shots (assault rifles such as G3, HK's, FAL's) were fired at the same station (Municipal Guard) in less then 12 hours.
Also, 3 Hand Granades were used.
And now the number of riots @ pen's. is 18, holding more then 135 hostages.

shit is getting insane, i've seen crazy stuff around, war against rivals gangs, Cops taking off favelas causing a big fucking war, but this....is sick

Damn, thats crazy... On that movie "City of Gods" in the special features they have a hour documentary on Brazil.. Mostly about the drug trade and corrupt government.. Pretty interesting to watch..

btw Brazillian chics are fine as hell.. at the least the handful of ones ive met..

yeap they are really fine
hhahah lol

they are thinking about army...but last time army was involved, when Red Command stole 10 assault rifles from the army HQ @ Rio de Janeiro, public opinion was against that. Its a different aproach... regular and honest people felt harresed by the "way" army deal with that kind of situation.

I read in the Times that 40% of Brazils prison population is in Sao Paulo  Imagine if this happened in all the prisons around Brazil; the police force are barely able to cope as it is.

it is already happening, more 3 states are already under attacks too
about 10 pen's are controlled by the inmates, and they are setting a task force to secure another state's pen's just like in my city, i just drived by there and theres a lot of cops and signs to change the road directions...

oh, 14 suspects of being involved in the shootings were killed yesterday by the cops, and 3 more officers were killed too, also about 10 inmates from rival gangs.

The President is having a meeting with Sao Paulo's Governor...lets see what is going to happen.

Damn man that's pretty crazy...

What is the current status of this situation, I realized your last post on this thread was a few weeks ago..

Hey.,..so...they stopped the attacks, but yesterday when the leader of the gang was under interrogation 3 riots started at state Pen's

Cops and this gang, they had a couple of battles after that but nothing major.
THe bad thing was...a lot of innocent guys were killed with no chance of deffense and without no charges against them...looks like the cops has its own squad of death.

It was some crazy and unusual days

Good that everything cleared up, but it's messed up that all those innocent people got killed. It doesn't seem like the government or the law is really in favour with the citizens of Brazil (atleast thats what it seems like to me)..

What do the families of these victoms do if one of their house hold members gets innocently killed? Does the law acctually do anything about it or do they just leave it as it is?
