Film & TV 30 Days Of Night

#1
so lately i've been rather disappointed with horror movies (if you can even call what comes out these days in that genre horror). it seems that Hollywood has lost it's magic when it comes to trying to scare us. nowadays movies don't even try to scare you anymore, they just go for the gory grossout. now don't get me wrong, coming from a childhood where Freddy and Jason were my idols, i have no qualms about gore in movies, and enjoy a nice bucket of blood with my horror flicks. but i mean even Freddy and Jason movies tried to scare you (they usually failed hilariously), and nowadays, films don't do that anymore. everyone loves movies like Saw and Hostel, but were any of them actually scared by these movies? of course not.

and then along comes this film, 30 Days Of Night, based on the graphic novel of the same title. while it may be too early to judge, having only seen the trailer and one scene from the movie, it looks like this movie is on the right track, and could bring the scare back to the horror genre, a genre that in my opinion went stale years ago. so without me blathering on any longer, here's the trailer:

here's a scene from the movie. i don't know what it is about this scene, but every time i see it i get chills running up my spine. the way he delivers the line is so creepy. god, i can't wait for this movie :)

Ima go see it because it looks interesting. But im not really expecting much of a REAL scary movie. Shit i can't remember the last time i actually saw a movie that actually made people trip in the sense that The Exorcist did back when that movie came out. But you never know, the movie might turn out really good.
