this goes out to dante:

ok i got word, that you ain't planning to bring back 2pacshakur.org,which is pretty sad, because it was a good site to refer on and a good site to compare one's own collection with what's "available" out there.
i know that running this site and keepin' it constantly updated is quite time-robbing and not cheap (imagine all the research und the verification of rumors), but i would offer my help as much as my spare time allows it.

He was going to reopen, but now he isn't. I remember him saying that people didn't use his site for what was intended (collecting), rather, they used it as a reference as to what mp3's they could find.

True, but it's inevitable. People do the same thing with www.ohhla.com, it's intended for lyrics, but they just use it to find out what guest appearances Pac did so they can download those.

I wanna see u make a better 2pac timeline...

just about to say that.

a subscription could be a good idea (pay to see the site), then again you get people bitchin about you use in pac's name to make money

when it comes down to it, the site was an expense that i endured as a gift to the 2pac community. picture that the site, especially due to the timeline and thumbnails, was well over 200mb if a viewer loaded all pages. that being said, we had tens of thousands of unique hits per month, and 200mb X 10,000 visitors really requires a nice deal with a reliable host. i never used ads, because i believe that they detract from the experience of going to a site for information. having an "is eminem gay?" google advertisement makes me look like an idiot.

the site wasn't all that anyway
personal ego aside, you're flat out wrong. NO other book, dvd, documentary, or website has ever put in the work to create what i did nearly singlehandedly. i'd bet you're just some bitter previously banned member trying to start shit.

if some of the 2pac's scene's more serious collectors got together and wanted to help keep the site current, then i'd be all for it. the sad reality is that collectors compete, and therefore we cost each other money. the long term effect of this is that friendships sour and people become less willing to share new information. the only help i really could even use is someone who can scan and type the tracklists for new pac-related releases...

i'd bring it back if it wasn't all on me, but for me to dedicate a few hours a week to a site that 9 out of 10 people just use to hit kazaa with for some "new tunes" then that completely robs me of any motivation to continue.

gotta agree with u on that :thumb:

would like to join the group of comitted ppl to keep the discography source online

I don't give a damn about collecting to be honest.. but the time line was something wonderful, and it'd be good to see it again. Dante, puting time line on line again will not cause people searching mp3 on kazaa, dc, etc, so maybe you will consider that?
That was the best source of information about events in Tupac's life
