Nah think about it. You got Thug Life as the one Dante released. Then you got this other one which was like Out On Bail or whatever. So surely has got to be a couple versions laying around.
I'm not bragging at all, it;s just the truth. How do you figure it's not worth $150? Are you serious? The tracks alone would have cost way more than that plus the time spent obtaining them. You act like they're are making a killing on these projects when the reality is they might break even cause the material was ALOT more than what anybody would make off of the projects. We are talking thousands of dollars here my friend. Go download the shitty 128kps links people. lol. Support the projects or put Pacs life on repeat.
when did i ever say $150 wasn't worth it? i said it was too expensive for most people to afford. only the most diehard fans are going to be willing to pay that much for 11 songs, and there aren't that many diehard fans left on the scene, not as many as there were a few years ago. if he had sold the CD for $50 bucks, however, more people would have been interested in buying it because the price is reasonable. more people buying = more money, simple logic.I'm not bragging at all, it;s just the truth. i don't assume anyone's making a killing on many of these projects, but someone's obviously making a profit, otherwise they wouldn't happen. it would make a hell of a lot more sense to sell the shit at an affordable price and move more copies. but rather than take into account his own faulty logic, Dante chooses to blame it on something that was going to happen inevitably, the fact that it leaked. if he had sold it for a lower price, more people would have bought it, and a leak wouldn't have mattered cuz he would have made his money back anyway.
the thing here though is this. if the projects got put out, the people who could afford them could buy them, the people who couldn't afford them subsequently wouldn't be able to buy them. if the projects DIDN'T get put out, the people who couldn't afford them would still be in the same place, but the people who did have lives and economies and luck that enabled them to purchase it wouldn't be able to either. and in a few years, a number of people would be sitting on a BUNCH of projects. why not wait until then and leak and think smart for once, if people actually do have to be pricks? if anything, that would benefit EVERYONE in the long run. that's the issue here.
utopian ideologies are nice, but people have this idea that the tupac material is out there for them to get one way or another. so when dante comes along and offers something for a high price, people feel it's morally wrong because there are people who can't afford it who deserve to have it on an equal basis as other people who just happen to have more money by luck or coincidence. one thing sofi said, and no sofi i'm not trying to drag you into this but it's an attitude i've seen in many - "if you're in a position to give, give". i agree, really. i do. but the thing is, the sentence should be longer. "if you're in a position to give, give. but what if you don't want to give?".
we didn't have the choice when it came to the projects. dante & co put them out there at a set price. that was the deal. either you get it this way or you don't get it at all. surely a bunch of people might think "yeah okay let's not get anything at all because bootleggers ruin the legacy of pac". we were given a bunch of ingredients (metaphor) and had the opportunity to find the best way to utilize them to make the best possible recipe. we fucked up though.
so in the end i agree that in the ideal situation in the ideal world, all of tupac's unreleased tracks should be available to everyone in cdq, but the world isn't that simple, and the only option i was offered was destroyed because people are selfish. hey i'm selfish too or i wouldn't be saying this but at least i didn't breach an agreement.

Man who has it, paid much to get it, hes good enough to give it to real fans but wants slight (for him) payment. From his point of view he's good.
People who want it but don't want to pay or can't afford use moral arguments. If a guy has it, he should give it away. "It's a shame he wants to get rich on a dead man". They think he's a bad man.
It's a problem that won't get solved easily, there are people who understands him (examples below), and there are people who don't care, they just want "justice for everybody".

Yes, bootleging became easier but on the other hand if there was no internet Dante couldnt reach people he reached so it also helps hip-hop.
i financially supported many of Dantes' projects....from the OG Vibe mixes to the Remembering Makaveli Dvds...supported in a sense that, many people had acess...most could afford...and the hype was well balanced...but bottlenecking information and alienating fans made this project horriably mismanaged...thats what led to the leak

it's weird, dante doesn't even post here anymore and yet there are like 3 or 4 different threads going on that he's directly or indirectly involved with. he's gone but his name still lives on lol.

well some people don't want to see dante make a profit. he's rubbed a lot of people the wrong way over the years, and he's made a lot more enemies than friends. those people don't care about the people who actually purchased the projects like you, and they are too short-sighted to think of the consequences. they just want to piss dante off, so they buy the shit and leak it. he knows it will happen whenever he does a project like this, because the same thing happens with every project like this that gets released. they all get leaked eventually.Preach said:

thing is, shit would leak even if dude didn't act like an asshole towards so many people. so you've got the people that wanna piss him off on top of the regular folks who would leak it for the sake of it.

1.if sessions was in CDQ it WOULD be worth $150, but most of it is in shitty quality.
2. troublesome 96 on the sessions sounds like someones just playing the og in the studio.

And... Out On Bail was never intended for release on any album.... Pac laid it simply to vent...
So I came across this leaked album on the net and came here to see what the story is. Sorry to hear that it wasn't the intention of Dante to release it for free. A lot of you guys weren't here a while back, but Dante released a lot of 2pac material for free. Most of it anyone could get a hold of, but he did a great job upping the quality. That being said...thanks Dante for your support for the 2pac scene. Sorry to hear that this was the last straw, but it was inevitable...everything comes to an end.
Wasn't PAC doing this to make the music, not for a profit? I am new to this site but isn't this why most artists do what they do? I know the income is added benefit but all original intentions is to just spread the word, PAC wasn't some Lil John waste of time rapper only out to make money off some stupid hook, just my 2 cents, now flame away!
