you have a few mistakes here... no offense, but the collectors and people who buy shit could rattle this list off in a second. for example, niggaz nature was never a radio single, while toss it up was all over the radio contrary to your **.

I don't know where your from, but I don't ever remember Toss It Up Getting too much airplay in NY on hot97.

Toss It Up was a song that usually played in the background while the radio hosts is talkin. The same goes for still ballin. Same for 2 of Amerikas Most Wanted.

2PAC SONGS THAT gets the most spins in NY:
Hail Mary(STILL PLAYED HERE & THEN)
I Ain't Mad At Cha (STILL PLAYED HERE & THEN)
Dear Mama (STILL PLAYED HERE & THEN)
Keep Ya Head Up (STILL PLAYED HERE & THEN)
How Do U Want It(FAIRLY ROTATED & GOOD THROWBACK, PLAYED WHEN REQUESTED)
Cali Love (ANY VERSION)(GOOD ROTATION WHEN RELEASED)(PLAYED BY A DJ OR WHEN REQUESTED)

Round & Round (GOOD THROWBACK & FAIRLY ROTATED WHEN RELEASED
never heard of round and round :P

in the bay and in chicago (two radio markets i am pretty familiar with) toss it up was played relatively frequently, especially in 1996. the topic was asking which songs were radio singles when they came out - not today. if we were talking about today then the only answer would be ghetto gospel. i remember first hand that as pac's albums and singles were promoted, i heard every last one on the radio at least a few times. the only exception would be 2pacalypse now, which hit shelves before hip hop had a good foothold on radio.

"I Get Around" is what I meant smartalick. I'm speaking of the NY radio stations. Ghetto Gospel hasn't been played on NY radio once. I don't blame the music directors as no one wants to hear that crap on the radio and no one has requeseted it.

yes, sir. amaru hasn't gotten into paying for spins... *yet*
no respectable hip hop station would play ghetto gospel, but that doesn't mean it's not on the airwaves.

dante is right your list has flaws.

I can tell you one thing...Toss it up was BIG in the Uk....video for that was played more than to live and die in l.a...NY is a biased area that doesnt even wanna play westcoast music in its clubs and if it does its only like for 20 mins. This is from persona experience!

No offense, but don't be a Dante rider. Yeah, at times NY could be biased, but right now the tables have turned on NY artists. NY artists are the ones complaining for airplay now. Mostly you hear plenty of downsouth spins on the radio and in clubs. And please don't talk about bias toward westcoasts because "Drop It Like Its Hot" has been overplayed in the clubs and airwaves that I always avoid the song as much as possible. Game also gets plenty of love on the music scene. You must be living or talkin about 1992. East/West is over. The only NY artists being played on radio is Fat Joe & G-Unit.

First of all Homeboy. Dante will tell you that we dont even talk/like each other.

2ndly i went there and experienced it myself.

So you go to a club for 10 mins? Im talking over a 5 hour period in one club, onyl like a small portion of it is even westcoast music.

You will hear, p diddy ALOT, biggie a ALOT, jay-z ALOT,...etc. talk your bull to someone else. I went to 5 diff clubs in the last year!

p.s. who the fuck talked about radio play?

...i'll add that snoop is about as west coast as the backstreet boys are these days, so go figure, he's all over east coast radio.

hate to say it, but from my experience east coast, especially nyc, dj's tend to be hip hop snobs with very little patience for west or south coast music. i hate crunk too, but you gotta recognize it and likewise give it spins.

i find it pretty hilarious that funk flex plays like one west song per hour while he's all over tv with low riders and tricked out cars that are straight west coast culture. then again, he calls himself a dj, so he's obviously fucked in the gourd.

OK, first of all what time period did you go to NY? Obviously its recently. Who from the westcoast is hot right now. The westcoast just started to only scratch the surface recently. Snoop coming out with "Drop It Like Its Hot", The Game, and Guerilla Black who was picking up for a second. No offense but Snoop and Game are the only westcoast artists recognized right now. I mean who is blasting anything westcoast these days, but those 2. LA probably isn't probably even giving their own westcoasts artists that much play. I mean were you expecting some type of throwback joints like "nothing but a g thang" and "Gin and Juice". LOL. Until the westcoasts comes back with a true movement like the south they have no true spot even getting heavy airplay on the radio or spins in the clubs.

First off this is the problem with westcoasts. Too much haters over there and haters on this board hating on Snoop. Look how long Snoop has been around putting down LPs. He is the only one from California that has been on the frontline during the deathrow days and then doing it all by himself and now he has Game to accompany him to hold down the west on a commercial level. While all the westcoasts artists were independent, Snoop has been on his albums holding down LA and LBC, so give him some credit. He is the king of the westcoast. You not giving snoop his props is like someone from NY not giving the self-proclaimed King Of NY Jay-Z his props.

You are trying to say he's commercial as the backstreet boys because he is recognized. So what if he is commercial.!! Due to Snoop Dogg getting national exposure does it make him less of a westcoast artists? Does Snoop have to be on an independent label, where nobody heres about him before he's considered a true westcoast mc. If more westcoast artists stepped up on the commercial scene after pac's death and deathrow crumbling, maybe the west could've still held the momentum and developed more artists. I don't understand how fans out in LA are because if it wasn't for Snoop through 97-up until now nobody would've been holding it down for the west on a national level. Dre is very off and on, so he doesn't count, Exhibit hasn't really made any musical impact, so he doesn't count, and the same for the Westide Connection: Snoop on the other hand has been putting hits out since DR to No Limit, and now his own company.

Flex is like the main one who pushes Snoop, Game, and the crunk music the most out of any DJ. But I do admit that he may be biased towards Pac in terms of recognition and airplay like plenty of other NY djs. I feel like NYC DJ's are always trying to promote Biggie & Jay-Z to keep Pac under the rug because I think that they feel that they want either of those 2(Jay-Z and Or BIG) to be voted as best MC on another top 50 or 22 greatest mcs countdown in some years.

anyone who doesn't give krs-one props needs to stop listening to hip hop or learn its history. i gave some college guys some schooling on this last weekend at 2am in jewell in south chi. krs helped pave the way for gangsta rap (criminal minded), positive rap (edutainment), you name it...

the reason i discount snoop as being straight west coast is that he's the most dilluted "west coast" rapper right now. listen to doggystyle, or even doggfather, and then compare it to any of the horseshit albums he has put his name on since then. like i said, snoop isn't coastal anymore and his selection of producers iterates that. now is that bad, not at all - but to call snoop airplay as representive of west coast airplay isn't very accurate in my eye.

just like zino and the source, hot 97 dj's have very defined lines of allegience, and it will take 100 callers to get someone played who isn't in their pocket (or vice versa). dj quik, for example, makes great non-offensive west coast hip hop and is a seasoned veteran. does he get his spins? what about e-40, too short, wc, murs, du, and the rest of the west artists who deserve rotation.

we're both right when it comes down to it, but we're outsiders looking in. money controls influence and spins, as does ego. ho hum.

You must be kidding me. What has snoop done for the westcoast recently. west coast conference. if you ask me,he's looking for attention. He's gone pop. He's now got game to hold down the west? Ha,you must be some 15 year old who just bought the documentary.

What kind of hits? beautiful??? snoop fell off. those are pop records. the west has enough momentum. what about kurupt? crooked i? c-bo? jayo felony? yukmouth? sly boogey? bishop lamont? rass kass? mc eiht? mr.midas? they're holding it down for the west more than snoop ever has since the late 90s.

What about them. All those guys are bums. I've barely even heard of these cats before yet alone seen them. Those cats are nobodies. If cats really wanna hold it down for the west, they have to go on a national basis or no one will care or even know them. All they care about is dropping independent albums and then staying out of the limelight. They don't put any effort in bringing the west back. Snoop has always had good cause and intentions for the west, but ask any of those cats you named. Those cats you named are just here to sell independently, put money in their pocket and thats it: they could care less about the west being back.

These cats are only regional also. When was the last time you saw a video from one of these dudes on TV. You talk about Snoop going pop, but I can't name one song that any of these guys have made. Snoop is the only one who has put the effort to hold the West down globally, so he should get his respect he deserves. Hell, Jay-Z made pop records and is hailed as the greatest in NY. What more do you want from Snoop who has been the only rapper on the frontline from LA holding it down since deathrown crumbled.

The only reason you never see yukmouth, C-Bo, and MC Eiht is because the infamous media doesn't promote their music like they'll do a Jay-Z album. Snoop and theses guys started on the Westcoast thing, so that's what their expected to represent throughout their career. So since Snoop went EastCoast, he's still in the game and the media loves him. The media loves the Eastcoast. And since the westcoast artists are still reppin' the west, they won't get that Eastcoast attention. They would have back in the early 90's, but times have changed. You have to rap about clubbin', Escalade's, and females to get respected. And I, personally, think C-Bo can tear apart Jay-Z. But he'll never get the recognition that Jay-Z get's because he's Eastcoast. Where is the love?!

And second, were getting way off topic from 2pac singles.
