Did 2pac collaborate with Melly Mel on that One Nation album? Or did they ever collaborate period?

One thing I'm not sure about is that I think on the song "How Many Shots Will It Take" with the Outlawz had Melly Mel & Scorpio on it, but I've never heard 2pac and Melly Mel on a song. On the beginning of the song I hear the Outlawz say Pac aint here, so I want someone to confirm if Pac and Melly Mel have been on the same track.

I ask this because on a recent radio interview Melly Mel dismissed 2pac as the greatest mc and said he only met pac once. On that interview Melly Mel said he doesn't consider Pac the greatest because he contributed to the destruction of the black man in America with Thug Life. It made me wonder if he ever worked with Pac, why he would say such a thing because most people that worked with Pac have never said such a thing.

He also dismissed Biggie as the greatest saying he was very limited and that his most heartfelt moment on a song was "Me & My Bitch" and then laughing at the end and seeming to not taking Biggie serious at all.

I thought that on "How Many Shots", Tupac (or maybe Edi) says in the backround of the song before any of their verses "it's Melle Mel and Scorpio in this..."

Anyone else remember this? pz

Back to the original topic, I know that Pac DID intend for him to be on One Nation. Among the names mentioned in the same interview with Pac were Greg Nice, Buckshot, Smiff-N-Wesson, Melle Mel, Scorpio, the Luniz, Snoop, Kurupt, Daz, Scarface, Kokane, Bone Thugs, and Spice-1.

First of all let me break down the actual story. Melly Mel did not diss 2pac, he stated an opinion when asked by radio hosts. This was on the Star & Buck wild show on the power stations heard in several areas. It was power 105 for my location. It was not hot97 for the idiot who posted up the wrong information. Before Melly Mel came in at the end of the week, Star who is the main hosts had a top 5 greatest mc's list. The list included Kool G. Rap, LL Cool J, somebody else, Nas, and 2pac was #1 on Star's list. For a week people were calling in and sending emails to the show about why Jay-Z and Biggie wasn't on the list.

So for the record thats how it started. When Mel came in the conversation leaked onto him and it started. When Melly Mel came in they started something like a word association with him regarding great mcs. He said 2pac was great, but added too much negativity in hip hop and is the destruction of the black man in America. He also said 2pac might be the greatest in having the greatest body of work and influence and then said But Adolph Hitler also had a great influence. He put 2pac & Hitler in the same sentence. He also added that whenever he's in a greatest mc's debate he always ends up in a million arguments about 2pac being the greatest because he says alot of people all over the world see 2pac as a god.

But that is nothing, Biggie smalls got the worst end of the stick. For a week the radio hosts was downplaying everything Biggie achieved and when Melly Mel came in he put the icing on the cake by saying Biggie's most heartfelt moment on a song was Me & My Bitch" and then saying "C'mon now".

MY OPINION ON MEL'S STATEMENT IS THAT HE IS RIDICULOUS. JIM JONES FROM THE DIP SET WHO LOUDLY REPRESENTS THE BLOODS BY WHERING RED FLAGS AND RED FLAGGED COATS IN HIS VIDEOS, BUT TO ME THAT ISN'T IN ANY WAY CONTRIBUTING TO THE SPREAD OF BLOODS IN THE TRI-STATE AREA, BUT IS ONLY REPRESENTIN WHAT HE STANDS FOR AND IS SOMETHING THAT HEAVILY EXISTS ALREADY IN THE TRI-STATE. THE SAME GOES FOR SNOOP, JUST CAUSE HE TALKS THAT CRIP TALK AND WHERE'S BLUE FLAGS IN HIS AREA DOESN"T MEAN HE'S CONTRIBUTING TO THE SPREAD OF CRIPS.

In my opinion the bloods and crips were there before Snoop Dogg and Jim Jones, just like the way Thug Life was living before 2pac. Melly Mel is just someone I see as someone who misinterpreted 2pac. To blame 2pac and his Thug Life symbol as a way for black men to commit crimes and going to jail is absurd. In my opinion he's old and never got to fully understand what Pac was trying to do as plenty of people on this board still never fully got to grasp Pac.
