I don't think you know you're coming from. Nobody is saying 50 is or will ever be the next Pac. 50 is mainstream, and probably the most popular rapper out today. But he also cannot be as popular as 2Pac, because the whole West Coast vs East Coast eliminates the next big rapper as being more popular than 2Pac or B.I.G.I listen to 50, but there is no way I think he is as good or as real at all as 2Pac. About 2Pac and 50 growing up, I'm sure 50 was nothing but a hustler, and I'm not sure if he was even rapping yet, but 2Pac, he knew what he wanted to be, a celebrity. He wanted to tell everybody how it was for his people, hew did just that. 2Pac is very true to himself, and he is very real. There won't be another Pac, or if there is, we won't find out because he'll get shot or something before we find out.

Dude you are ABSOLUTELY correct. Most insiders are aware that 50 cent is the perfect example of what pac was alluding to in that interview. The whole style of rap that is simply materialistic and aims at impressionable youth in the complete wrong and evil direction. You see 2pac Shakur was a prophet very similar to the one predicted in the book of Revelations (the last chapter in the bible). This horsemen is, according to the most common interpretations of the bible (i can quote if need be), to ride the "white horse" of integrity splitting the path of righteousness into two. You see Post-Pac their can only be rappers who are either completely sociually conscious or completely not. i didn't really say we needed another 2pac, i was simply offering my interpretation of what 2pac was saying... anyways what you said made me think, maybe we do need another 2pac because 2pac was very blunt and didn't give a fuck what he did or say BUT he was conscious of what he was doing... yeah nobody will ever take his place cause that was 2pac but maybe we do need someone to pick up where he left off, you know, a voice for people of similar backgrounds...

I always interpreted this quote as, when I'm gone whoever comes next wont be as balanced as me. Basically meaning what you said no compassion etc. And if I were to name a rapper who came after Pac and is big now it would have to be 50. From things I've heard him say about community and charity etc he doesnt have compassion like Pac had for his people and his music has nowhere near the kind of balance Pac had in his albums. But it also could mean what someone said at the start, he could have meant he would have turned cold hearted, although thinking back to that interview he was talking about the future of Hip Hop so I'd assume it is meaning another person.

The way I see it, 2 Pac meant in that statement that 2 Pac is being positive, being polite as possiable and trying to keep things under controle. But if you get rid of pac, then your gonna have a lot of hungry rappers who aint gonna be so patient and things are gonna get a lot more rougher.
